RUSHHEAD666
A simple poll for complex minds. Just listened to "Awake" and now it's "Images And Words." These two albums to my ears are their best. I am sure a lot of you would argue that. Rudess is a genius on the key"bored" but he lacks the moxy that Moore had. It seems that Rudess has taken over control of the band. That could be a bad thing. Time will tell. You know I love to bag on Mike, but his drumming on "6:00" is some of the best skin smashing on the planet earth.

greyfriar
For me it's: Images And Words!
PhilCastro
the "A mind beside itself" Suite is one of the best things DT has ever written IMO. However I & W is still better from start to finish
J2112YYZ
Both are great albums. These two and SFAM are the best they've ever done. I've gotta go with the album that started my fandom with them almost 20 years ago now, Images & Words.
Hatchetaxe&saw
I & W started me off too. It gets my vote.
Show Don't Tell
Ahh this is hard... both are my favourite DT albums, but I'm gonna have to give the number one spot to I&W. Overall, a more solid album, IMO, though that isn't to say that Awake isn't great as well!
tjtull
Images & Words Sadly, it never got any better than this...for me anyway. I like Awake but no where near as much as I love I&W.
HemispheresserehpsimeH
Images And Words. No doubt in my mind. I love Awake, but I &W still craps on it.
ColdFireYYZ
They're both good albums, but they aren't my favorites from DT. I'd say they're almost equal, with I&W being slightly better.

Bastille Dave
I agree with everyone about I & W being the best. Awake is still pretty awesome though. signed, "The Silent Man"

Jaminbenb
I thought the drumming on Awake was much better...just my opinion.... But I&W DID have Metropolis! I clicked Awake, though....

FallTempest
I voted Awake.. Mainly i just like the dark vibe from Awake. Voices is one of my favorite songs as well. But I&W is absolutely incredible.

Soni
Awake! Scarred has to be DT's most underrated masterpiece. I'll also add that I&W has a terrible sound! I mean, did you hear those drums? YUCK Edited July 17, 2011 by Soni
Albone2112
Have to go with 'Awake' for 'The Mirror' and 'Lie', although it's a close call. I saw DT on the 'I&W' tour and it was AMAZING!!!!
