Nate2112
I LOVE You'd Bet Your Life. Rush has a new 90s sound. Me just lovins it The RTB rap was hillarious because my friend was saying that I don't listen to rap. I showed him RTB and he laughed The point Of Double Agent is good and evil. As a "double agent" the boys decided to have two different vocal styles. Alex's voice was evil and Ged's in between was good. I love the solo in Double Agent And You'd bet your life is the worst closer ever. But its a killer song
1 of the 7
I suppose Roll The Bones - I see it as mostly clever, but there is a sense of humor there. The spoken parts of Double Agent are just so sexy, it's pretty much all I think of when I listen to it
gatorbass
"Silly" is the wrong word for how I view it. The RtB rap was just so... not Rush. I don't like Double Agent that much better, but I felt like it fit better with their style.
lerxt1990
appropriate at the time... but at that time... double agent was.. funnier. sooooooooo tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!

I agree. The way his voice is in a low whisper during "Double Agent" is rather sexy. He should speak like that in Rush songs more often.

Rush Cocky
The rap. Easily. It was cool at the time, but it has not aged well IMO.

Sorry if this has been brought up (don't have time to scour the entire thread at the moment!), but BOTH the spoken word part and the singing on Double Agent are, in fact, Geddy. Listen carefully...Ged's voice is unmistakable, even with some studio effects layered on top.
USB Connector
The lyrics in the RTB rap are just plain idiotic. I preferred it when I didn't know the lyrics, they made more sense then. "A fact's a fact from nome to rome."

I never thought it was anyone else. o-o But I do know that, at least live, Alex has done some/a lot of the harmonizing on the singing parts. If you watch bootlegs and the like you can see him up at the mic' on occasion.
Synth Sense
I seriously don't get the love for the talking parts in Double Agent. IMO, a decent song ruined by those spoken word sections. They're so cringe-worthy. Maybe it'll grow on me in the future, I have no idea, but for now...bleh. The rest of the song is okay, though. As for the rap, I love that part far more than the spoken words on DA, even if it's just as silly.
