She is beautiful! Not to say that she wasn't before but it is just a little bit scary seeing a baby that is that small because quite frankly when I see a baby that small I am concerned about the baby's health and hoping the baby won't have any serious health issues. ILSnwdog Posted January 30, 2012 Author Share Posted January 30, 2012 Hi everyone. Well, Keira turned 1 over the weekend. We also had a trip to the doctor and got some pretty good news. She grew a whole inch and almost a whole pound over the last month. She is also finally over her anemia and the doctor also thinks the acidosis she has suffered from since birth is finally subsiding. I think over the last month we have finally turned a corner with her. She is still only 14 1/4 lbs., but I think she is really starting to develop at a faster rate. She is also crawling around, waving, and playing patty cakes. She is eating a ton and loves ice cream, jello, and whip cream (she lets me squirt the can right into her mouth ). For those of you who don't know, Keira had an in utero growth restriction due to a problem with the placenta, was born 8 weeks early, and weighed a mere 1 lbs. 11 oz. when she was born.
