Well sports fans...I'm happy to report that this story has a happy ending. Keira is coming home today. smile.gif

I just got off the phone with the doctor and she said that she will discharge her today.

And more good news. I think she is getting over her anemia. Last night when Mrs. Snowdog and I were visiting, she was awake for over an hour. She's never been awake and alert for that long before. 1022.gif

Lastly, I wanted to thank everyone here for all of your support. To say that the last six months have been difficult (and especially the last 6 weeks with Keira in the NICU) would be an understatement, but everyone's support here really helped.

I'll post some pictures here later this week. I should be taking a lot. biggrin.gif

Fabulous News!

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to give you all an update. Keira is doing fantastic. She gained 3 ounces her first three days home. Our pediatrician said that there is no place better for Keira than home. I'm glad I pushed the doctors to get her home.

It's also good for Mom and I. It is so much easier on us not to run to and from the hospital every day. I don't mind getting up for the overnight feedings knowing the alternatives.

And as promised. Some pictures of Keira without any tubes, wires, or IVs. smile.gif

Here is me and Keira just before we departed the hospital.

And here is Keira at home in her crib.

She is still only 3 lbs. 8 oz. When I look at her, it's like looking at a Mini Me version of a new born. laugh.gif

Major wub.gif .

That picture of you holding her is absolutely priceless. Daddy holding his little baby girl.

That is so cute.

I am overjoyed to hear that Keira is doing so well.

WAYYYY too cute, dog. wub.gif

She looks very content. smile.gif

She loves laying on me. I don't know if it's because I give off so much heat or what...but when she is laying on me, she usually falls right to sleep. smile.gif
