THE CURMUDGEON,ORfiehttp://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Banana%20World/Sunburst%20banana.gif :dweez: Here's the message I sent. And here's the Jaguar Mk X I was bought to remind me of the Corgi model my Dad bought me when I was in the hospital for my Tonsillectomy.http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Me%20stuff/My%20Fleet-%20Jaguar%20Mk%20X%20left%20side%20sm.jpghttp://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Me%20stuff/My%20Fleet-%20Jaguar%20Mk%20X%20Front%20oblique%20sm.jpghttp://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Me%20stuff/My%20Fleet-%20Jaguar%20Mk%20X%20Rear%20sm.jpghttp://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Me%20stuff/My%20Fleet-%20Jaguar%20Mk%20X%20Rear%20oblique%20sm.jpg If you can see the front dash in the first pic is a STICKER made to imitate the Burl wood dashboard was made of in the actual automobile. It could have been done better with a decal [DEE-cal], but the manufacturer cheaped out on this part. I bought this model at a site called Car Model.com, It is an Italian store, but 90% of my 'Fleet' were bought from an American company, Diecast Models Wholesale, com and I'm completely happy with their site! Anyhow, I hope now that you can see the Message, I hope it helps you, Steve! Have a great day! Thanks ORF, you are a good bloke, think we have things in common. Things like.... I parked once in a space reserved for "mother and toddler" then some dude came marching up and threatened me and told me to move. Thing was the f***ing carpark was nearly empty. I said " well there a loads of spaces closer that you can have". He said no I am having that space!!!!!! I moved and spoke to a couple of women who had witnessed it. They just said "you should not have been there!!!". Thing is he parked there and his "child" was about 8 years old So I was commiting a heniuos crime by parking in the mother and toddler space when the car park was empty but it was OK for this Neanderthal to threaten me with violence? Makes me think?..... "I hate the system as much as you Briggs but until I find a better one I have to live with it. Pretty soon you are just going to start executing people for Jay walking!!!!!!!!!!!!" What show is that from? LOLhttp://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Banana%20World/banana%20Michael%20Jackson%20purple.gif Ha ha you know dude!!!! Hal Holbrook is still alive!!! He is even older than Clint and they are still good pals. If you get a chance, try to watch "The Sweeney". It was a gritty 1970's police drama in London (a bit like UK version of Streets of San Francisco I guess maybe) when coppers were proper men and didn't give a shit about political correctness! DI Jack Regan (The wonderful English actor John Thaw) drove a Ford Granada 3.0 litre and the crooks would drive a Mk2 Jag. It was the days when men were men and the police would drink in one end of the bar and the villians in the other end together and they had sort of a mutual respect. The Sweeney was Cockney rhyming slang. It was "Sweeney Todd" which rhymed with "Flying Squad" which was the name of their specialist police division. Take care dude Smudger

I think you would like "The Sweeney" Gritty police drama like TSOSF but set in London. In those days the only swearing they could get away with on TV was "Bastard". The word is used often and liberaly!! Smitty

That One Guy
We had a going-away company luncheon for a 35 year employee this afternoon. And from 10:30-2:00, the power was out. Bossman then said screw it, everyone start their weekend early! Truly an easy, sociable, and enjoyable day at work. :)

Lucas
My dog, The Professor ... He lived up to his name today, and then some . . When we go for a walk, I usually take him down the stairs into the basement and out the basement door .. He always runs down the stairs first, and lately I have been putting one of his ( many ) stuffed toys at the top of the stairs on the floor - that way, when we come in from the walk, I will unhook him from the leash in the basement, and he runs up the stairs like shot from a cannon and grabs the toy when he sees it laying there .. This has become a great game that he loves ... Before I am even able to get upstairs, I will hear the chaos of him flipping the toy above me as I'm still in the basement .. Anyways, today I went down into the basement to get a screwdriver .. The Professor knows that sometimes I go down there and it is not always "walk time" ... I find the screwdriver, and come back up the stairs to find one of his stuffed toys laying at the top .. He placed "Nuts The Squirrel" there for me ..... As I look and see Nuts laying there, The Professor comes screaming around the corner as to say TWO CAN PLAY THIS GAME .. At first I felt tears in my eyes, and they, to be honest, it freaked me out a bit ..

Steve Smith
The Sweeney was Cockney rhyming slang. It was "Sweeney Todd" which rhymed with "Flying Squad" which was the name of their specialist police division. I find the convoluted logic of cockney slang completely fascinating. It originated from bad lads in the East end of London in the 19th Century. They would talk about their latest blag or robbery. But in those days the cops and robbers would drink in the same bar. Police at one end and the villians at the other, There was definitely a bit a mutual respect because a lot of the police came from family that had a crook amongst them. The rhyming slang was invented so that the law could not eavesdrop on them Steve
