I was at Barnes and Noble today browsing for inspiration because I am out of reading material. When I came across the Autobiography of Charles Darwin. My hand proved to be faster than my eyes because it was off the shelf and in my grasp before I really even knew what the hell it was. eyesre4.gif

You know, that old chestnut.

Anyhow, to be honest, I was absolutely drawn to it in an obsessive drooling sort of way. Aching for more knowlege. I am aching to begin reading it.

Picked this up for less than a dollar... and it's awesome! I can't put it down.

I haven't seen the movie, but I plan on renting it after I'm done with the book. Sean Penn and Tim Robbins both won Oscars for it.

God, that was great! I went back to page one and began reading it again right after I finished! I've never done that before, despite reading a lot of great books.

... but now I've decided to read another Dennis Lehane book instead, "Shutter Island." If it's half as good as "Mystic River" was, it'll be great! (And I just rented "Mystic River" - haven't watched it yet.)

I was reading the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire and it was full of different Christian sects such as the Arians and Gnostics, so I got interested in the Mary Magdalene story.

Interesting.

A little relief that this one is only about 500 pages. Wolves of the Calla was a beast!

laugh.gif I concur.

I'm into Medieval history at the moment and this is a very good novel set during the 100 Years War. smile.gif

Ok, to be honest, getting through Charles Darwin's Autobio is like scraping my eyeballs across concrete, so, for now I had to stop and get something of more interest. I found this book called "Galileo and the Dolphins: Amazing but true stories from science" by Adrian Berry. The stories are pretty awesome so far. They are very short, 2 pagers, but all are little known to unknown facts that make an ineresting read for the fact-freak who can only read for 5 minutes at a time.

I'll eat this up smile.gif
