GeddyRulz
I'm giving up on Lemony Snicket's "A Series of Unfortunate Events." Maybe I'll continue some other time. I'm starting the modern literary masterpiece "House of Sand and Fog" by Andre Dubus III. I've heard things.
Phoenix
Currently reading Sergej Lukianenko "Nightwatch", first book of 3. A story of Guardian of the day and Guardins of the night, supposed to keep the light and the dark ballance. Very interesting, sorry my english is not good enough to describe. The first book was brought to cinema not long ago, book two hit cinema in Russia early this year but did not make it to Germany yet. One of the best I read for years beside Eddings. I could look it up of course but it's so nicer to hear what another real person thinks rather than a publisher's synopsis, a professional review or a bloggers diatribe. So if you see this, fill me in a little bit please lass... Could the impressions be conveyed via PM, please? As I don't care for political discussions in this forum, I would like to add religious discussions to my (very short) list of forbidden subjects, for reasons that I am sure all of you can discern. Thank you in advance! Treeduck, Jack's response is part of what this book is about. But in order to not rock the boat, I'll gladly PM you with my thoughts Also someone noted that this book is being discussed on that other Rush forum, (counterparts?). goose
QUOTE (goose @ Nov 24 2006, 12:09 PM) The Camel Club, given to me by my mother in law. "OMG, you'll love this! It totally explains the secrect workings behind the war on terrorism!" Warning: Spoiler! Finished it. The bum was really an ex-agent. The world was saved from nuclear disaster with 1 second left till launch. The agent & the Bbartender hooked up. Did I miss any cliche's? I hope I don't offend anyone, but this book was dumb. I'd love a few more like this one after I finish! "House of Sand and Fog" by Andre Dubus III was amazing! I recommend it. (As does Oprah.) I'm wondering what to read next. The new Hannibal Lecter book - "Hannibal Rising" by Thomas Harris - is supposed to come out any day now... but I may read "Stranger in a Strange Land" while I'm waiting.
