Dread Pirate Robert
Thanks to SC's recent passing of a new law which allows high gravity beers, my fridge is current stocked with: Flying Dog Horn Dog Barley Wine Style Ale Flying Dog Double Dog Double Pale Ale Terrapin All American Imperial Pilsner Victory Storm King Imperial Stout Unibroue La Fin Du Monde High Gravity Beers all, the weakest being the Imperial Pilsner at a relatively "wimpy" 8.1 %. Interesting that the local stores in SC seem to be stocking up on different high gravity beers than I can get across the border in NC, and that is a GOOD THING. More diversity in selection. Yee-hawwwww! In my shopping foray on Monday, I was grinning like a happy idiot at all the new high gravity ales that I had never seen in person before which were available for purchase, like a kid in a candy store. Dread Pirate Robert
Btw, some intriguing sounding high gravity beers I didn't purchase at that time (choices, choices), one of which was named "Delirium Tremens" which I almost bought just for the name . . . but in the end decided to wait until later . . . Btw, anyone heard of a beer called "Fish Paralyzer"? Also a good name . . . Edited June 20, 2007 by Dread Pirate Robert
grateful4booze
It never hurts. I own a wine and liquor store so sales reps are always giving me samples of stuff to try. I have a whole countertop at my house full of half empty wine bottles alone. It gets old after a while. Sorry.
grateful4booze
Hey Capt. Robt., Jump all over that Delirium Tremens (sp?) that is some rare and expensive shit. There's a bar around the corner that charges $20 for a half pint.

If you pour it right, that is...you must open the bottle while facing the southwest sky at sunset, where the light will gleam through the design on the label. That opens the portal for the unicorn -- and a rainbow! -- to come through. Then you lovingly pour the beer into your crystal flute...soon your living room will be filled with the scent of heather, of fresh hops and barley, of sun-kissed spring water, and the whole town will hear the carefree whinny of the most beautiful white unicorn you've ever seen! Children will come from all over to share in this evening miracle -- they will laugh and dance and be merry! And the beer will get you f*ckin' toasted, too! La la la la.......
