RUSHHEAD666
QUOTE (rushgoober @ Jul 20 2010, 09:47 AM) QUOTE (losingit2k @ Jul 20 2010, 06:21 AM)I would have to go see Star Wars in 3D! My kids have never seen the original trilogy on the big screen! Besidesit gives me a chance to see it again! Here's hoping he focuses on the original trilogy first in 3D - then he can go f*ck around with the prequels. The original trilogy in 3D in theaters would be insane... Indeed!!! SilverSurfer
LOVE Star Wars. Been watching the movies religiously since I can remember. To this day I can recite A New Hope almost word for word. Death to the prequel trilogy!

QUOTE To this day I can recite A New Hope almost word for word. Almost? You're an amateur. I've been reciting the 1977 movie word-for-word for 32 years! ForceTen
Lost all respect for Lucas when he released the re-makes of the originals. Some stuff it added. But, most times it degraded the movies. Then, when I saw the pre-quels. Ish... Ironically, my son loves Ep. I-III. I prefer the orignal theatrical releases of Ep IV-VI.

Some Half-Forgotten Stranger
Although I'm really interested in the politics of the epis 1-3,(to see what happened to The Republic to spawn The Empire) I find the stories, acting and SFX so dreadful, I have a very difficult time getting through them without wandering like a goldfish. Call me gramps but it's 4-6 for me.

I don't know how you could put THAT down. I agree the FX were remarkable so I made a mistake in including them in what I found dreadful. It was the volume of them that I couldn't handle. Weren't all three movies done almost exclusively in front of a green screen? Visually the movies were impressive but it was just visual overload. Just too damn much FX for me. Like I said before...call me gramps but I prefer a soundstage over a green screen (I know....$$$$$).

Like I said before...call me gramps but I prefer a soundstage over a green screen (I know....$$$$$). "Visual overload" is certainly true for the second film, "Attack of the Clones." "Ummm... what the hell is happening? I can't tell with that busy background and all the laser blasts. Who shot whom?" I can understand that younger generations want/need more stimulation than we did, but there's such a thing as too much action. QUOTE I like the prequels... It's the trilogy of my generation! Your generation is inferior to ours. Hey, I'm kinder to the prequels than anyone else I know, but I still think they're less than a tenth as good as Eps. 4-6. Have you ever seen the big budget porno called "Space Nuts" with the great Stormy Daniels? Classic stuff. This scene should have been in the movie. I'm surprised Lucas didn't sue.
