Jazz is the most relaxing music ever.

oh yeah i just love kickin back to my favorite easy-listening jazz tunes:

The one album that can relax me, no matter what, is Miles' "Kind of Blue". Especially the track 'Blue in Green'.

no other composer, not even Grieg or Strauss, has succeeded in writing a "Daybreak" sequence as tranquil, charming and beautiful as Ravel's "Lever du Jour" from the Daphnis et Chloe ballet:

even if the music itself was subpar (which it isn't at all), the choral part would make up for it a thousand times over.

The Inception soundtrack is utterly brilliant. It makes me want to try scoring again. It's SO much work, but it can be so rewarding too.

It is pretty much one song played at different tempos.

even if this is the case for every other song on the soundtrack, this one alone is enough to convince me that its acclaim is well-deserved:

and you can't deny the emotional power of this one:

I need to start practicing my university band music.

But I'm so lazy...

...But I really should just pick up my saxophone and play.

Ah, decisions, decisions.

Less than a month until the Cheap Trick concert. biggrin.gif

New Queensryche song sucks.

Also, apparently Metallica is making/has made an album with Lou Reed. Don't know what to think about this.

I'm interested in hearing what a Metallica/Lou Reed album would sound like. Hopefully it isn't another "Death Magnetic".

Battles Gloss Drop is a wonderful album.

Is it now? I've been meaning to listen to it since it came out but haven't had the chance yet.

I'm seeing mixed reviews for it everywhere else, not that I base my opinion off them- just saying...

At the moment, I'm really digging Hot Rats.

I always dig Hot Rats- Was & still might be my favorite FZ album.

But then again there's Freak Out!, We're Only in It for the Money, Lumpy Gravy, Weasels Ripped My Flesh, Overnite Sensation... the list goes on.

His body of work is impressive.

I love it. I think it's as good as Mirrored. Heck, I don't miss Tyondai Braxton. It's filled with great hooks and riffs and grooves - exactly what I was hoping for.

Looking back, I'm really kicking myself for not trying to see U2's recent 360 Tour. I had the chance to go on a road trip with a few of my friends to three shows and passed on the opportunity. Damn it.
