telegraphcreeklocal
For Monday through Friday, one gallon a day at 4.05 a gl. 76 Premium only. On the weekends, a full tank at 20.00. My work week commute is 45 miles a day. I ride a 2006 BMW R1200GS. On the weekends, about 150 a day. I only use 76 premium no matter what it costs, it's rocket fuel. ILSnwdog
I'm actually entertaining the idea of getting a motorcycle. A bike would get 40 mpg. My car gets 17 mpg. I wonder how long it would take to break even if I rode it to work (30 miles round trip) 3 or 4 days a week.

Mandalorian Hunter
Luckily I have the opportunity to walk everywhere; being a student I haven't fully entered the real world yet, but all these problems are starting to stick in the back of my mind. Public transport seems to be ok in Bristol, so that's fine for me.

Ancient Ways
I am amused when my company requires about 40 of us to appear for a meeting that is approx 35 miles away from where we all work at the district office. car pooling won;t work since we live scattered across the entire area and actually want to get home at a decent time. It's amazing that the trip is even necessary with the technology able to video conference us if needed. it's at least 400 gallons of wasted fuel with the round trip and the stop and start traffic. Derek19
Where I've lived, the gas prices have been going up, and down. The vehicle I drive has been fuel efficient, and good on gas. I don't, and haven't needed to drive a lot of long distance, so it makes a difference. What I try to do is limit the amount of errands.
