1987 AFC championship
Denver vs Cleveland
Cleveland Stadium
"The Drive" John Elway 98 yards of misery still to painful.. sad.gif
Broncos 23
Browns 20 O.T.

Was that when byner fumbled on the 2? That was a heartbreaking loss.

No that was the year after...The Browns and Broncos met in AFC Championship game 2 years in a row...first one was The Drive where Elway engineered a 98 yard drive in last few minutes to score and force game to OT... and 2nd one The Fumble (which you are referring to)

Yes...

Denver 38

Cleveland 33

What was sad beside the obvious, was Byner was the main reason why Cleveland got back into the game (trailing 21-3 at half)but in the end he received nothing but anger from fans(including me) and the Cleveland media. One thing i do remember watching "The fumble" when he got stripped on the Denver 3 yard line Earnest was heading for the end zone carrying the ball in one hand like a loaf of bread. All day long when he got the play held football close to his body protected.Thought it was odd he would do something so haphazard all of sudden . wink.gif A controversy that has no merit but for awhile back then was thinking did he get paid off? rage.gif tongue.gif

1980 NFL playoff game Browns vs Raiders
The infamous "Red Right 88"
Cleveland stadium 4 degrees,
Browns driving less then 40 seconds to go in game on Oakland's 13 yard line 4th down instead of going for field goal which would more then likely win the game for the kardiac kids Sipe makes the call to pass and get touchdown to seal it. "Red Right 88" Of course he gets intercepted in endzone and Oakland wins 14-12. (Which i believe they went on to be first wild card team to win superbowl)

Correction this was January 4th 1981.. oops.gif bolt.gif

The Shot.

Cavs v.s Jordan sad.gif

I liked the alternate version better on that gatorade ad showing Jordan missing. Just a fantasy but enjoyable for a split second! laugh.gif

There was a pretty bad one today

There's the under 19 world field lacrosse chamionships happening in a very close town, right now.

Canada in the 4th quarter was up 14-7.

But lost in overtime 16-15 to the U.S.A.

Here's another bad one ...

In an American Indoor Football Association playoff game Saturday night in Tupelo, Miss., the Columbus Lions led the Mississippi Mudcats 40-18 at halftime.

When it was over, Mississippi won 52-50.

Jean Van de Velde blows his chance to the be the first Frenchman to win the British Open since 1907 on the 18th hole at Carnoustie. He went to the last hole with a 3 stroke lead and came out with....a triple bogey 8 - rofl3.gif rofl3.gif rofl3.gif I remember Curtis Strange kept calling this guy STUPID -

Does it still bother him after 8 years? Van de Velde said, "once and a while a whole week might go by, [and] I don't think about it."

Sad one though.

Another to add for us Angels fans:

The end of the '95 season. Blew an 11 game lead and ended up tied with Seattle. One game playoff...and they had Randy Johnson to pitch the playoff game. Seattle won the game easily and won the division.
