  1. You people would make terrible Dead heads. ; ^ ) {You know the one thing we need is a left-hand monkey wrench!}
  2. Just hit Umphrey's McGee on Saturday in Madison, WI. Kicked major ass. Next up is The Allman Brothers Band at the Beacon in NYC, March 5th. Joe Bonnamassa in Milwaukee in April. Sting at Ravinia in June. And then the Geddy Lee Blues Band, 6/28 in Tinley Park & 7/4 in Milwaukee!
  3. I did well on Music Today for Milwaukee and "Chicago". Both right in the middle :dweez: of the pavilion, about 20-30 rows back. Sec 2 in Milw; Sec 103 in Tinley Park.
  4. Had to go with P/G. Great cover, too. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/6/66/Rush_Grace_Under_Pressure.jpg/220px-Rush_Grace_Under_Pressure.jpg Also shout out to Moving Pictures and Hold Your Fire.
  5. QUOTE (Tommy Sawyer @ Sep 28 2012, 11:22 PM) What are you guys talking about... Camera Eye kicked major butt live Don't know what show(s) you were at... I'm with you man, I thought it was the highlight of the Time Machine Show. The notion that it doesn't work live is from an alternate reality than mine. To each their own.

  9. I will just add to this thread by saying that I love the setlist. Love it!
  10. QUOTE (Workaholic Man @ Aug 5 2010, 02:55 PM) QUOTE (losingit2k @ Aug 4 2010, 09:49 PM)No but you can already start complaining about the set list if you like? I never complain about the set list. It's THEIR music, and they will play whatever they want. We're so frickin' lucky that they're still recording and touring at their age....and at a high performance level, too. We should all be on our knees chanting THANK YOU over and over again..... Unfortunately, your attitude (which I share wholeheartedly) seems to represent about 15% of the folks who post in this forum.
  11. QUOTE (syd11 @ Jul 11 2010, 12:27 AM)Maybe you're not a fan of Presto or Faithless or whatever but that's to one's own preference. Well, I for one was absolutely SHOCKED and THRILLED to hear them bust out those tunes in Milwaukee. The idea that they just randomly dusted off a 20 year-old tune that had never been played before (Presto) tells me that fans can never take anything for granted, and I think that adds to the excitment. Not to mention I absolutely love the song. What a blast I had hearing it at the show! Similarly, I would not have expected them to drop a S&A tune that didn't make either leg of the S&A tour. Very cool surprise. All the better that it is my 2nd favorite tune off the album (next to MalNar.) But aside from my editorial commentary, I think syd11 makes a really good point about how subsequent legs are likely to evolve in terms of working-in more new material. Certain older tunes are going to get axed, and the deeper tracks tend to be the likely candidates. We should enjoy them while we have them, especially since the band is playing so ferociously.
  12. I certainly play an array of air instruements when attending a concert, but I try to do so with a good deal of discretion and with the most accuracy a non-musician can muster. In short, I am blessed with an inordinate amount of natural talent in the field of air musicianship. And dancing. There, I said it.
  13. QUOTE (trenken @ Jul 8 2010, 09:08 PM) QUOTE (briremo @ Jul 8 2010, 08:18 PM) I really dont get what's so important about them playing JL. Its a good song and all but what is the big deal. There's no major solo in it. Its a thematically boring song, zero to think about. Dont get it either. It has 3 short lyrical parts, the rest of the parts arent anything that excites me all that much. If they never play it I wont cry about it. To me camera eye was a much bigger deal because its more of a full song, not a basic instrumental with just a few lyrics thrown in here and there. Totally agree. That said, one thing I LOVE about seeing Rush is how they keep dusting off all these classics that I never thought I'd hear. Jacob's Ladder fits that description, but I do agree with you guys that it's not in the same league as the Camera Eye.
  14. http://www.chicagotribune.com/media/photo/2010-07/54753972.jpg Well then, if Drew Stubbs wasn't a Rush fan before, he should be now! 3 HRs in the game!
  15. QUOTE (New World Manny @ Jul 4 2010, 02:05 PM)Most pumped: 1. Camera Eye 2. La Villa 3. Presto 4. Vital Signs 5. Closer to the Heart (although the new version is not my favorite live arrangement...where's the bass jam!?!?) Least: 1. Caravan 2. Drum solo 3. Working Them Angels (I can only do 3, and that wasn't totally easy.) You know, upon further reflection regarding the show I saw in Milwaukee, I need to change the list. As much as I wanted them to bring back Closer to the Heart, a big part of that was for the jam, and with it gone, I'm just not all that excited about it. On the other hand, I have always really liked Marathon, but the version in Milwaukee made me quite grateful that they decided to bring it back. What a great tune, and they ripped it up Saturday night. To do my list over, Marathon is in the top 5, CTTH is out.
