they're are an ungodly boring prog  band which i actually tried about 2 months ago. (the album in question actually)

I have nothing but love for that APP album. Due to this thread, I gave the Renaissance album a spin.

 

It's beautiful and very enchanting. I will go for APP as I've loved it longer, but I could see myself loving Renaissance. They gave me Fleet Foxes meets Jefferson Airplane vibes!

Okay I just realised who Renaissance remind me of on this album: the spacey, ethereal, enchanting and upbeat later period Anathema. This is magnificent, I'm now replaying this album, it's the sort of music that just makes me feel for a moment pure and happy.

I’m glad you like them! I’m not always in the mood, but when I am this is one of the records of theirs I’ll always come back to. The other is Scheherazade And Other Stories.
