Alex’s Amazing Arpeggios
The term ’ Hair Metal ‘ … and the fact that many Melodic Hard Rock bands which either inspired or recorded during the mid to late ‘80s ( often these bands had been around for several years beforehand ) were lazily retrospectively many, many years after the event , lumped in to this category bands such as Van Halen , Def Lepp & Scorpions, Whitesnake etc .. used to make me 🤬 .. but I’m over it now ! 1

Bon Jovi were supporting KISS on their Animalize tour. It was at that point in Bon Jovi's set that I went for a beer! . In fact I walked past them while they were playing it to get back to my seat!

laughedatbytime
Obviously, When the Children Cry by White Lion is not only the best hair metal song ever, but it has the most meaningful, profound lyrics. Of course, those children are all grown up now, or dead. If only we would have heeded their call back then!

Mind you half of the session guys in LA played guitar on Creatures of the Night!

invisible airwave
One of their better rocking songs. Still relevant subject matter to this day, sadly. Fitting the villain is played by a bad guy in Naked Gun 2 1/2. Edited February 13, 2023 by invisible airwave
Nova Carmina
Oh, my god! So many bands I haven't thought about in years! Tora Tora! Helix! Y&T! Most of these are probably repeats, but just to pile on: Motley Crue -- Live Wire Ratt - You're in Love Dokken -- Breaking the Chains Skid Row -- Slave to the Grind Twisted Sister -- I Wanna Rock Europe -- The Final Countdown Cinderella -- Nobody's Fool Yngwie Malmsteen -- I Am a Viking Dangerous Toys -- Teas'n Pleas'n As for a tenth, is Living Colour a hair metal band? The Cult? GNR? Eh, I'll just go listen again.
custom55
I was never a fan of these bands. I did buy Motley Crue Dr Feelgood CD when it was released. I did see Motley Crue in 2015 and they were fantastic. I did ride in an elevator with the members of Warrant in Corpus Christi, TX back in the 90s. That's the extent of my experience with Hair Metal.
