Liked for the Jimmy Eat World, though I’m glad you’re getting something out of the new PJ. Doesn’t do much for me.

Bleed American is a classic. That Kelly Clarkson album is enjoyable too

It's Kelly's best album...and sadly it's got filler. But some terrific songs all the same.

Heart-Heart (10/10)

I know they hate they're pop era but i love it.

Mick

100% agree with you.  It disappoints me that they have not played more from this album when I have seen them over the last 10 - 15 years.  This, and to a lesser extent Bad Animals, are my favorite Heart.  Not a bad song on this album and when I listen to it I never, ever skip a tune.

This album always makes me think of the crush my dad used to have on Nancy. My brother and I watched MTV a lot back then. If he was within earshot when a Heart video came on, he would always come into the living room and watch just so he could see Nancy 😄

Benson Boone- Fireworks And Rollerblades

This is a terrific debut album. I love his voice, his songs and sound. This is a terrific album that shows that kids want more rock in their mainstream pop.

Promising start to what could be a tremendous career.

Handel - The English Chamber Orchestra

A 3 LP box set of the works of George Frederick Handel including "Music for the Royal Fireworks" and "Water Music" - plus a lot more.

Good stuff - but classical music usually is.

Oh firepower's the better record.  I loved IS but it didn't knock the wind out of me the way Firepower did.  Firepower sort of gut punched me.  IS is still awesome but i kinda knew what to expect this time round.

Don't even get me started on the PJ.  Andrew watt needs to be banned from producing rock ever again.  He also did ozzy's last two.  and IMO there's some really strong music.  but it's tainted by Watt's love of blowing out your speakers.  it's awful and the PJ record is no exception.  Also the songs are just weak.

Pearl Jam- Dark Matter

Middling? I adore this album. It's going down really well with fans too. It's probably in my top six PJ releases at this point with Ten, Vs, Vitalogy, Binaural, Lightning Bolt and No Code competing.

Jimmy Eat World- Bleed American

Kelly Clarkson- Breakaway

These two albums have surprisingly similar energy.

DM is far from middling and this is coming from someone who finds Lightning Bolt and Gigaton middling.  Easily their best since Backspacer.

I find Lightning Bolt a beautiful album. I find the lyrics tender and it's just a straightforwardly enjoyable rock album start to finish. Also it has Sirens which is one of my favourite songs by anyone ever.

Dark Matter is for me near that level. I just love it. The songs, the production, the hooks, the energy: adore it.

But I'm at a point in life where Pearl Jam are my favourite band, alongside In Flames.

I had a theme....albums I had trouble getting into but here goes the old college try again, lol i picked a good 7of em.

Nirvana- Nevermined (5/10)

Dokken-Tooth and Nail (8/10)

Pearl Jam-Lightning bolt (6/10)

Muse Will of The People (3/10)

Pet Sounds (5/10)

Queensryche-Operation Mindcrime (5/10

and finallyRush-Clockwork Angels.......the holy grail........drumroll please............5/10 lol.......you lose:laugh:

So my experiment was largely a big ol fail with only Dokken getting the bump up.

but in all honesty i'm glad i did this. and by the way.  i don't hate any of these.  except the Muse.  i found most just boring.......which actually if you know me is a bigger sin than me hating your album.

Except Queensryche.  love the energy hate the voice. and the story is literally just the Winter Soldier.....impressive, lol

and you know my view on Nirrvana.....i'm getting tired of the they changed the game narrative.  Maybe to yes. but they just happened ro get there first.  not cause they're actually interesting.

The pearl Jam......it's one of THE albums of all time.

CA......sounds like doo doo and is dull.

Dokken i liked.

Pet sounds......boring 1960's sound Collage, lol

I mean Winter Soldier is literally decades younger and the album and its concept is perfectly executed and very moving...sooooo...the comparison you're making is off as one is a great album the other a great MCU movie

Nirvana are great, their best years were to come and sadly they never did.

Pet Sounds is beautiful. I've overplayed it but it lead to Rubber Soul and/or Revolver (can't remember which) so there is that.

You bash on Rush loads on this forum so seeing CA get a bad rap is nothing unexpected 🤣

I love Dokken. Cheese of the finest sort!

Lightning Bolt is a personal favourite, never said it was for everyone. I just see an album that already I find underrated is getting bashed on this forum all because one person likes it a lot (me) 😭🤣

But it's okay, Spocks Beard are utter shite.

And that point is.......SA.  i've always stood by that album.

I might get back into rush one day, BTW.  not closing the book.

It happens. It's taken years for Opeth to sound exciting for me again. Same thing happened with Thrice, Trivium, Mastodon, Paradise Lost, Testament, Maiden...

...and right now I'm experiencing long term burnout with Nightwish.
