Taylor Swift-1989 TV (10/10)

The TV's have honestly been a huge wish-y wash-y affair for me.  From mostly inferior versions of the original albums to hit or miss vaults.

1989 is the best FAR AND AWAY!! the re-made album is a VAST improvement over the honestly limp dick sounding original.  and the vault is IMO my fav and the best "new" taylor album from Clean on in a while.

This is the only TV that i endorse and prefer to the original. and 1989 i can confidently say is now my fav Swift album.

Michael Jackson-Thriller (7/10)

Proof to me that reputation doesn't always mean great.  To start you have all the Classics, Beat it, Billie Jean, Wanna Be Starting, Human Nature.  then you almost have a terminal amount of filler (sorry it's there like an anchor)

Baby Be Mine

The Girl is mine (GAG ME!!!!!!)

thriller (yup never be huge on this one ever)

The Lady in my life

Also this is maybe the worst sequenced hit album i think i've ever heard.

are there classics.....yes.  is the album itself as a whole worth humanity's drool............Hee-hee-hell no.

lol

I'm trying to remember if I've ever heard Thriller without watching the video. I think the video adds a lot to the song. I mean once you get past the fact that people who were dead for years were somehow able to gain the ability to dance just like Mike 😄

I agree, it has never been a fave of mine from his discography. Its kinda tuneless, and so forced

Pearl Jam- Pearl Jam (2017 mix)

Much like Brendan O'brien's remix of Ten, this is a MASSIVELY improved remix of their 2006 self titled album. Now I always loved this album, but felt it suffered from some shoddy production, which was unfortunately typical of releases at that time.

This remix is fantastic! It comes alive with a ferocity that's exciting to listen too, and some songs I sort of ignored really come into their own here.

Pearl Jam- Gigaton

I didn't love this when it came out. It was around lockdown and it just was too intense and slow paced for me at that time.

Now? Whilst not a favourite, this is really great stuff. Some truly beautiful moments throughout and it's great to hear them experiment.

Never too late to rediscover an album.

Pearl Jam- Backspacer

Pearl Jam on autopilot gives me the horn.

Jimmy Eat World- Chase This Light

Sometimes I rate this album low, yet only in comparison with the rest of their discography. However this is, when all is said and done, a near faultless collection of pop rock anthems. Start to finish, not one skip. To say it's a lesser JEW release is to be incredibly picky.

And that includes bonus tracks, because they are awesome as well.

Ooffff I love Baby Be Mine. Absolutely catchy little tune. Can’t fault you for being sick of thriller, just listen to Fall Out Boy’s song of the same name instead, lol.

Never been super huge on the ballads at the back end.

Always made me laugh.

"It's just a thriller...scary Michael Jackson...!"

That's how I sang it, anyway

Yeah, there was nothing scary about Michael Jackson. Well, at least in the 80s there wasn't.
