What did you think of the new Blink and TBS?

I enjoyed the new Blink more on the second listen. It's definitely growing on me. TBS was pretty good. I'll have to revisit it soon

Dream Theater- Dream Theater

I actually think this is close to perfection. Not sure why it's not a bigger fan fave.

Dream Theater- The Astonishing

Still can't bring myself to come close to finishing this. I moved along quick.

Dream Theater- Images And Words

Much better!

Toto- Mindfields

Gosh I love Toto! For some reason, after lots of Dream Theater, I felt like I needed some Toto. Honestly, the two bands have a lot I'm common: both are exceptionally skilled, talented, diverse, often clinically pristine to the point of sterility. Oh and I love them both!

This album isn't one me and Mick agree on, but I love it!

Taking Back Sunday- 152

Oh gosh, this is easily their best work since 2006's Louder Now!! What a bloody wonderful surprise!

Fleet Foxes- Shore

The fourth FF album. The fourth FF album I find absolutely faultless.

Savatage- Sirens And The Dungeons Are Calling

Still one of my fave Savatage albums (though that's more for its raw charms and youthful exuberance, because they have far grander and more ambitious albums).

Dream Theater- Octavarium (just the title track)

I have conflicting thoughts about this album. I dislike the songs that feel like tributes to other bands (that I'm already not huge on), so normally I play this album, get to the title track, and feel worn out by it.

I've decided to just play the title track in isolation a couple of times the last few days. Oh. My. God. Just gobsmacked I never fully embraced this song before!

I don't hate this album, but I feel I wrote this song off just because I never gave it proper time to take in. Now? Wow.

It's like the rest of the album is bonus material just for this!
