treeduck Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 Obviously in the dream Neil was alive. I heard the album in my dream and it was kick ass! The best album since 1981 or 1980. Geddy's voice was peak quality, every song had a ripping melodic guitar solo, the songs were top quality with heavy riffs and cool synth parts, the drums were epic and the production was organic with perfect dynamics! As I was awakening I thought I'll listen to that new RUSH album again when I get up. But when I got up the album wasn't there... I forget the name of it now but even the name was cool. :guitar: :blah: :NP: 9
dream & vapour Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 Wait. You were able to audition the new Rush album, but didn't have your Pro Tools or Logic Pro neural interface plugged-in to capture it? Oy gevalt. Next time . . . next time. 1
EagleMoon Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 Only in a dream world, unfortunately. Wish it were so! 2
Geddyleegenes Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 I don't know. I think maybe that dream had you. Hah! Get it? "Did I have a dream? Or did the dream... " It's like a joke. Sort of. Well. Not really, I suppose. Sorry. 4
78jazz Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 Maybe it was called Open Waters, or Swimming Away Out to Sea? Was it so deep you could never touch bottom? 1
treeduck Posted November 1, 2021 Author Posted November 1, 2021 Maybe it was called Open Waters, or Swimming Away Out to Sea? Was it so deep you could never touch bottom? It was crazy really. It was really like a lost album from 1979 or something, the way it sounded. 2
toymaker Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 The hubris, man. To think that your subconscious could write the next great Rush album...geez. Seriously, though, was it like Moving Pictures awesome or Signals awesome? If it was another Hold your Fire, forget it. 1

It was mainly Neil, although I guess Geddy and Alex were there too. I was drafted in as a guitarist to support Alex (I guess due to his physical problems). Neil held me in a quiet contempt as I was clearly not good enough, but an imaginary Neil apartment featured a lot too, it had massive hardbook books piled high in all directions and were about everything from folklore to UK politics and art, but then the dream headed off into a direction about lost cats and attractive older women needing my help to retrieve them  4

Weatherman Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 I heard that album too. It's called 2113, and it features a naked man hiding in dark cave on a planet in the far recesses of the Solar Federation. He's burning a guitar to stay warm. Then the priests of the temple of syrinx land in a spaceship, cuff him, and escort him to prison. After many years in solitary confinement, he dies. But he kept his individuality, so it was all worth it, you know?;-) 1

I totally agree! Sometimes I wake up with new tunes in my head! But then they fade away into the morning air...........Not to mention all the hot dream women I've had! Damn dude! I know! Sex is free in our dreams! But thanks to this thread I had a wild RUSH dream last night! I was outside this huge outdoor stadium! It was for a reunited RUSH Concert! I didn't have a ticket though so I snuck in!I was hiding by below some seats and security was coming around. Some fuckking Rush fan narced me out and started pointing at where I was hiding. So I ran up into the concrete rafters. I was on Geddy's side of the stage way above.RUSH came on stage. Neil was alive and well. Straight out of 1984. Short hair with tail on the big red Tama kit. They opened up with the Everly Brothers "I'll I have To Do Is Dream." It was so real. They played it really slow.I looked down at Geddy and he looked up at me and smiled. I then thought to myself that I need to find a single ticket down in the front. So I ran down to concessions. Then to the merch table. Then to the box office. It was closed.I saw this woman who was working there holding a credit card machine.I walked up to her and asked her if I could buy a seat in the front row.She said that I was in luck. She had a few left.Right when I took out my credit card some dude behind me handed her his credit card first.I said... "Hey asshole, I was here first. He said... "that ticket is going to be 555 bucks." I said.. I don't give a fuckk!" The woman said.... "he's right, 555 dollars please. I said.... "Sure! I don't care!" I got my ticket and then I woke up........ the song "I'll I Have To Do Is Dream" was playing over and over in my head. Crazy. 2
