when my buddy clem isn't on the Deere, he tells me that they're gonna force us all into electric cars, and into these "15 minute cities" where they put up a big wall around you, and they're gonna make beef illegal, and leftism is going to be the national religion

it's scary man, the woke media won't tell you, which is why you have to do your own research by typing increasingly ridiculous queries into google search until a tiny blog on page 15 of the search results tells you what you want to hear, bolstered by a link to a 50 view youtube video from a prepper vlogging from the drivers seat of a 1996 F-150

Assuming my girlfriend and I get married in a year or so,

do I have her buy in to the house? That seems to make the most sense. Saying "no this is mine, keep paying me rent" isn't compatible with my values. I was pretty offended when my ex girlfriend told me "just so you know, this house will never be part of the deal". Expecting someone to stay with you with zero chance of home ownership while you have yours is unrealistic IMO

When you get to the Netherlands you should own the house jointly.

1. no mountains. I'm not living somewhere without mountains.

2. friends and family don't live there. We're in the majority of people that want to remain a convenient distance from friends and family. That means keeping our roots here and working to improve our community, rather than packing up and running away to a faraway community that already has things the way we want them.

One more week until my nerve conduction tests, 3 more weeks until I find out whether or not I need to have surgery on either of my hands.

I got one of those (EMG), which combined with a genetic test confirmed my neuropathy (HNPP). I gotta be careful to not pinch my nerves!

I got an EMG test coming up later this year. How did you find the experience?

In my experience with senior citizens, my great grandmother killed a 12 year old in a crosswalk driving in her late 80's.

We should strive for a society where the elderly aren't required to drive themselves places. That doesn't have to mean walking, it can mean other things.

Damn, sorry to hear that. I never had a back, knee or neck issue a day in my life. Then my late 50s happened. I walk

better than my elders in the family,  but still use a walking stick in public for safety.

One difficulty of it is knowing when someone's driving has slipped enough with age where they should stop driving, especially if they're not willing to admit it themselves. Someone can be solid one year and imminently at risk of killing someone with their car the next year. Hard to say what the solution is. Yearly tests? That's a lot of frequency, it would annoy people and clog up a system. Unbridled freedom until you kill? That results in a lot of needless deaths. And I find it f***ed up when we give those near the end of their lives lots of freedom to take risks on the lives of those much, much younger than them. It reminds me of old people sending young people to war.

This is a good point. The drop off can be really quick and difficult to detect. But walking 0.3 miles for the 80 somethings I know it's nearly impossible

beats me, ask a GenZ person

secret road could mean bike lane for that blessed, forward-thinking, non-CarBrain'd generation

I currently spend over a thousand dollars a month on vehicles, NOT counting depreciation. The average car owner spends $12k+ a year on the privilege when you include all costs including depreciation. GenZ is smart for going "I'd rather put $12k/year somewhere else".

Since you're helping the economy as well as your mental health maybe Biden can get you some loan forgiveness. :spam:
