stoopid
Come to think of it, this cover was only marginally better.
J2112YYZ
I'll start: 1. "Paranoid" (1970) - Black Sabbath Did you know that the original name for the album was supposed to be War Pigs? Sabbath went with that cover because it made sense. But at the last minute the record company decided to change the name to Paranoid and they didn't have time to get something else.
treeduck
This has never looked good to me. I don't mind it, it's never gonna look great to my eyes, but it's ok.
treeduck
Come to think of it, this cover was only marginally better. No, to me that one is worse. The font is jagged and assaults the eye slightly. And the symbol at the bottom looks like an added on afterthought.
HemiBeers
Awful and that does not look like Greg Lake. ...but not as hideous as this...
HemiBeers
RHCP...I'm With You. Crappy album title, crappy cover, pretty mediocre album. Guess they only had a $20 budget for the album cover.
HemiBeers
Tokes on a joint...ffffffffft....dude I got it! We'll make the album cover with a 45 RPM adapter into 3 snakes!
HemiBeers
Apparently the total lack of imagination that went into the music also went into the album cover.
stoopid
Apparently the total lack of imagination that went into the music also went into the album cover. Fits right in with my mid-80s Yes complaints. Both bands had a history of great album covers then phoned it in for some reason.

I think that's ok nowadays probably for the same reasons I'm ok with Paranoid, and probably 90125. They are what they are, they represent what they represent. That's just me though. jamie
On the other hand, Ozzy's dress and Ward's jester pants: their outfits may be terrible, especially by today's standards, but i always really liked the mirror and how their reflections are facing the same way as them.

I would have probably preferred that [thinking Beatles white album]. The snake in particular... just seems out of place.
Nova Carmina
Can we agree this could have been better? No. The only way to improve it would be to make it even more black. None more black . . . I guess the snake fits with "Don't Tread on Me," but why that song? Why not a wolf? (That would have been cooler, imho)

I get that's a cool image, and I wouldn't talk you out of it, but . . . what's it mean? Has the mirror been sabotaged? Does it have some sinister implication to match the tone of the band? Are the mirror figures trapped? Maybe I'm overthinking this. Edited February 2, 2021 by Nova Carmina
driventotheedge
I suppose this is related to the song Animal on the album (LOVE the song) but never liked this cover...........
