tas7
This was a hard one, first I had to eliminate the Ying and Yang albums; Counterparts and Test for Echo, both of which I find little to rave about. So as some people have done referred to albums I would listen to, most of the clunkers come from the later synth albums where Neil's lyrics focussed on personal type issues. So my 5 are;1.Second Nature2. High Water3.Neurotica4. Open Secrets5. Out of the Cradle
JohnnyBlaze
Did someone say “stupid f**king flute”? http://youtube.com/watch?v=3h-dwY1Y2dc When I say stupid f**king flute...I don't mean the flute as an instrument, in general. I mean the stupid f**king flute in Jethro Tull specifically. Although that there is, admittedly, some stupid f**king flute. Ian Anderson on why the flute...(don’t worry, there is NO flute playing in this) If you saw that vid you will have discovered that he was NOT a flute player who brought that instrument to rock music. He was a rock musician who added that instrument to his own rock music. Ideologically, there was very little difference, if any, between Tull and Rush imho. They were two bands who were always experimenting and trying to grow despite possible failure with such experimentation. P.S. I bet you thought there was going to be a Tull video in this spoiler, didn’t ‘ya? :hail:

ytserush
This thread is not fair. There are 11 equally, utterly, totally, completely, entirely shitty songs on Test For Echo. 6 of them shouldn't be let off the hook because you only want 5! Working Man Fly By Night Closer To The Heart (studio version only...kicks ass live) Limelight are these four not almost universally considered among the band's most noteworthy and beloved works? Like...CTTH is in my top ten, and the other three aren't far behind at all... Well, for starters those songs you mention got radio airplay so it would make sense that they are among the bands most recognized songs. They've also been on just about been on every hits compilation that's been released. That said, it doesn't mean I need to like them any more or less than others songs that maybe didn't get more widely exposed. I like Closer To The Heart too actually. The studio version just sounds so dated to me know after what they've done with it live over the years. There are some many good live versions out there. Hell, I even prefer the polka version over the studio version at this point.

Derek19
In my opinion, my five Rush songs I don't like, but when I listen to the c.ds they are off of, I don't skip them. I wouldn't say they are the worst, though. In not any order, they are: "I Think I'm Going Bald", "Tai Shan","Dog Years", "Neurotica", and "Hand Over Fist".
