Super25Smasher
Tupac, really? They induct rap and hip hop artists. There should be no surprise.I know they do, but they should stop. They don't belong in the ROCK AND ROLL Hall of Fame!

I don't dislike rap anymore, but if you have a hip hop artist under the rock and roll category, talking music specifically rather than attitude, a problem has occurred.
custom55
ELO is basically Jeff Lynne. He's the HOFer, not the band.Yeah. His trademark production sound is really what's being inducted. My college roommate was into The Move and then ELO. I followed. Good for Jeff. http://youtu.be/1BzB7nkShdE Edited December 21, 2016 by custom55
EagleMoon
Except for Joan Baez and ELO, they're dragging the bottom of the barrel now. I thought they did that a few years ago--------------Jethro Tull? My quote was from last year, wasn't it?

Wil1972
I knew with a band like YES that has such a large membership, things might be awkward with who was inducted and who was not. Apparently only the UNION line-up is being officially recognized by the Hall. Which sucks, but hey, I am glad they got in. So to Peter Banks, Patrick Moraz, Geoff Downes, Trevor Horn, Igor Khoroshev, Billy Sherwood, and even Benoit David and Jon Davidson, thanks for your contributions. You are in my Hall of Fame.

tangy
The cars deserve entry. I do think the biggest ommision this year was chic. I did read that nile rodgers got some award though?
Mad Bowl Hoo
I'm pissed with the new rules that only certain members of bands can get in. Dave Abruzze has every right to be indicted for Pearl Jam. His drumming on Vs and Vitalogy is phenomenal. He got a raw deal.
Mad Bowl Hoo
That is not a new rule; I think a huge travesty is that Bob Welch was not put in with Fleetwood Mac. Wrote some great songs for them, and was clearly the bridge between blues FM and Buckingham-Nicks era FM.
