  3. Why? Please tell me? :eyeroll: I don't care if he wants to drink, not play the drums, or whatever, but I do care that he has such disdain for people in general and fans specifically. The very people that allowed him to pursue his livelihood and make a lot of money doing it, are the ones he seems to talk the worst about. Neil once said,"extroverts will never understand introverts" and based on my personal experience it's the most truthful thing he's ever said. Neil can't become that person any more than you can teach your dog to sing Red Barchetta. I've pointed this out on here so many times when these threads come up because i have the same personality in that respect and it's baffling to me that people just can't grasp this. If you walk up on a bird and it flies away it's real easy to assume the bird is a dick and hates you but that opinion is of no consequence to the bird and has no basis in reality. . Silly analogy I know but you get the idea. ..hopefully :P How much of an introvert can a person be when they play in front of thousands of people multiple nights a year or appear in concert films and documentaries? If you want to talk about that, maybe look up Andy Partridge.

  8. Back around 2000-2001, my sister's (ex) finace was playing in a dive bar in NJ called The Back Porch .. He had played there a few times before, and he told of this bartender there who claimed to be Sib .. THE Sib Hashian, from Boston ?? yes, that's what he said So my sis and I go to the gig, and it took all of 2 seconds for me to see that is guy was NOT Sib .. My sis' finace - not a Boston fan - was stubborn and still believed it .. So my sis and I do some research, and find that Sib owned tanning salons .. My sis makes some calls, and gets Sib's home phone number .. I'll never forget it .. She called him one Sunday afternnon - it was the day of a Super Bowl - and she had a great conversation with Sib ... She asked, of course, "Are you bartending in NJ", which he found hysterically funny - and of course said NO !! I just talked to my sis .. She just heard the news, and called me ... She will never forget that phone conversation, and to this day remembers him as an incredibly friendly and funny guy .. RIP Sib Thanks

  12. He was not as good a bass player as Geddy and he was not as good a singer. But boy, that cat was just about the coolest dude on the entire planet. He was the epitome of cool. He just stood up 6 foot 3 with that big afro and those Raybans on and the rock chicks just melted!!! He was also such a wonderful lyrical songwriter. RIP Phil, you were a legend in your short life dude.

  15. You take minor things like this way too seriously. It's just a cover band. Enjoy the cheap night out. Oh yeah, it's just an f'n cover band! The band itself had good instrumentals and a decent singer, I'm definitley not knocking that. I'm merely saying that the songs that were being preformed were pretty much every negative stereotype of classic rock radio. That is being, over-saturation of 70s and 90s and very little 80s, and the same songs being played over and over again. I'm sorry, but I can only tolerate so much Sweet Home Alabama, Fortunate Son, and Take A Load Off Fanny. That song is called The Weight. FYI and thanks, Levon Helm

  17. Do you have compact disks of albums after Moving Pictures??? Have you seen them live? Do you enjoy all three main eras of :rush:? I don't have any Rush CD's sorry. I saw the band 3 times in the 70's and twice in the 80's Rush generally do 4 studios followed by a live one. So you don't own any music after Moving Pictures? I had GUP and Signals on cassette tape somewhere Yeah...I'm sure you're a good guy but I can't approve you yet. Apply again next year. Ok no worries JR Steve, true Rush fans know that the band ceased to exist when they got that ugly lesbian with the raccoon hat to play keyboards and that rectangular thing on a strap .. I love him xxx :P :P What made you fall for him? The raccoon hat or the ugly lesbian angle? :P

  20. I know there are Aussies who made it to shows, but I'm not one of them. Does extreme hardship extend to being in the ass end of the world (and that phrase was used by a former PM to refer to his own country)? I must be the only Canberra resident with a Rush sticker on her car. I've never known any Aussie outside of TRF to know anything but Tom Sawyer. Half the time they don't even know that. These are 20-40 somethings that I'm talking about. Rush is never played on the radio here. We try to promote Aussie music so much that Canadian doesn't get a chance. I'm trying to tune them in by blasting it out of my car all the time. And T shirts? Check! Multiple copies of DVDs and CDs? Check! Fridge magnets? Check!

I just wanted to try and ignore your crass mistake. :eyeroll: I play for you 'My Mistake'. ... 'My mistake, I have made my mistake! What a dreadful mistake! Is this mistake that I make!'... When I was on holiday in Bournemouth, my doctor encouraged me with it. He's ... he's not a proper psychiatrist. He's not er ... fully qualified ... in, um, quite the sort of way we should want.

  26. "For a person of my sensibility, you're only left with the Democratic party," says Peart, who also calls George W. Bush "an instrument of evil." "If you're a compassionate person at all. The whole health-care thing — denying mercy to suffering people? What? This is Christian?" When someone begins a sentence with "For a person of my sensibility", it can, and hopefully does, generate some rolling of the eyes .. Much of the flack Neil has taken over the past few years has been earned .. And while I agree with him about GWB, Neil hasn't done much more for people who are suffering than Bush .. Unless there is something we don't know as far as volunteer work or philanthropy( which I doubt, considering Neil's self immersed blogs ), the people he belittles and ridicules in his books are most likely those who are suffering .. . .

  30. It's rather naive to expect a bar cover band to play anything other than the standard rock classics. They get paid to play songs that all the drunk people will enjoy. If they don't play that stuff, they won't get booked, won't get paid and the venue will just find another band willing to do it.

  32. You cant copy right a word. False™. A famous example is NBA coach Pat Riley's copyrighting of the word "three-peat", which now earns him royalties when it appears on shirts, hats or jackets. "three-peat" is not a word. It has a hyphen between the two words and they are completely unrelated. You have three (3) and peat which is very organic soil full of nitrates. So in that respect it is a phrase which is not in common use or in the English dictionary You can not copyright a word https://www.merriam-...nary/three–peatMerriam-Webster disagrees. Oh bollocks, it doesn't matter Goose. Look lets just forget it and move on eh? http://i.imgur.com/QRghIi2.gif
