Because I cannot even begin to explain the one I had last night. It involved theology (Catholic vs. a very Church Lady-like Protestant woman) and a Gene Simmons handmade Christmas ornament. By that I mean an ornament of Gene Simmons, not one that he himself made. What the hell? I'm not a KISS fan, don't watch Gene's show, and as to the theology? Who knows? Except that the judgypants church lady was really pissing everyone off. Some dreams I get; they may be pretty convoluted and odd but I can pick out certain elements and know where those references came from. And before anyone asks, yes, I was stone cold sober! Hmmm, back to square one on the ideal system of government issue, though I am sure that Stalin and Mao would have been huge Pearl Jam fans, completely misreading Eddie Vedder as an authentic voice of populist protest and dismissing Rush as elitist bourgeoisie bombast, so totalitarian police states are right out. Alright. I have a story. Related to this thread, I suppose. Years ago, just before I was starting highschool, I had to walk 2.2km to school (I know the exact distance because taking the school bus only qualified for those more than 2.4km away... soclose.). We lived out in a rather rural area, with a few cattle guards across the winding road to the school. I would usually ride my bike - it was a bit uphill going there, but a nice downhill coast home. Well, it was a frosty November morning and I was still riding my bike - I hadn't retired it for the winter yet. The cattle guards this particular morning were icy and slippery, but so far, so good. (Anyone see where this is going?) Suddenly, just before I reached the third cattle guard, I discovered a car coming towards me on the narrow road, and I reacted quickly, turning my bike closer to the side of the road. Unfortunately, I was already crossing the cattle guard when I turned, and slipped on the icy bars, and went down. I slid off the saddle of my bike as I fell, and managed to fall... so that I totally straddled a bar of the cattle guard, one leg on either side. I totally, utterly, lady-canned myself. I'd never felt such pain in my crotch before! Of course, I was super-embarrassed that the passing car would have witnessed my fall, and that was almost as bad as the physical pain. I had no choice but to simply get back on my bike and continue to school, but I HURT. And it was a bit awkward to explain to the teacher why I was sitting funny... "Well, see, I stubbed my camel toe, really badly," I could have said, if I had had any notion this thread was going to exist back then. Wow, I really never thought I'd ever have an opportunity to share this story. Thanks for that, Sheldon! :P

I've never thought dreams of having any meaning - at least not in a crucial sense. People sometimes act as though your dreams are giving you important messages to decipher, but I never bought that. This is probably a cheap cop-out of a rationale, and I wouldn't recommend applying it to too many other things in life, but if a dream is too hard to understand or seems too ambiguous, generic, what have you, it's probably because the reason you had the dream is trivial and irrelevant to begin with.

Here's a good site with a timeline of sorts from now to back in the 70's. http://www.neilpeartdrumsticks.com/ I think around the early 2000's is when Neil got his personal sticks printed with his initials (NP) on the larger stripe on the stick...I think before then going back to about 1991 its going to be hard to tell because his autograph model sticks were being sold in retail stores...so watch out for fakes from that era... But if the stick is earlier than that it would be a little easier to determine because he was the only one using that particular stick design. Pre '91 sticks are apparently able to be identified by a production code

This album is just amazing. I cannot fault an album I used to find INTOLERABLE! The Big Money is swamping me with awesomeness right now. I think I like it more than Subdivisions, a song I have always found comparable! Its edging close to 10/10. A Farewell To Kings through to Power Windows are all emerging as solid favourites in my collection! I'm glad I'm a new fan: its all old to me, so I have no specific preference for any one "era" in relation to my growing up.
