^ Ideally the question is about a five album run so that neither 2112 or MP is left out. MP crowns what 2112 started, with 2112 through MP being about the best run of five albums there is ever, along with (that I can think of) LZII through Physical Graffiti and Rubber Soul through Abbey Road (as MMT and Yellow Submarine weren't conceived as LPs and Let It Be was of course released after Abbey Road). That's some amazing company, esp for a band that couldn't get in the R&R HoF until fans were allowed to vote. :eyeroll: Edited by Rutlefan

AFTK through MP for best 4 album run

Signals through HYF for most underrated 4 album run

Presto through TFE for least favorite 4 album run

And as for Rush through 2112, it was a great 4 album run

4/4 agreed. :)

And VT-CA (with Feedback) for strangest juxtaposition.

I'd say that goes for the worst four also, Presto - Echo

Well, at least you can group them into similar (and chronologically adjacent) pairs... The same can't be said for VT/FB/SA/CA.

but diversity is still too strong and the transition is not at all smooth.

FB doesn't count. Rush needs one more album to fill out the VT-SA-CA-? tetrad.

Anything between CoS and MP is the correct answer (an argument can be made to take it to Signals).

I would have to go with AFTK, Hemispheres, PeW, MP. What a freaking run. Actually if you think about CoS through Signals... are you f***ing kidding me with that 7 album run? That is unreal.

No, it doesn't. Albums that they wrote, please.

I don't think it matters...who would vote for that era anyway?

No one should but if this was a poll... someone would.

Cue a new poll.

There is one vote for it on the "Tier 2" poll in Feedback (the subforum that is)...

If that means anything...

Well said. Funny thing about the current opinion of CoS. Back in the day, when Rush had just made it big among us "zonked teens" of my hometown with 2112 and ATWAS, we all went and bought the pre-2112 material. The overwhelming opinion of those Rush fans I knew was that CoS was the red-haired stepchild of the bunch -- the "wtf were they thinking" album. I always liked it but understood why most seemed not to. Now it's considered a masterpiece among Rushophiles. It's now eccentric good, instead of eccentric bad, I guess. Fine with me.

And so if Rush did a cover album of ABBA songs, or Bee Gees songs, or nursery rhyme songs, any of those would be a "Rush" album also, logically. I respectfully disagree.
