Glad someone else started this thread, I was thinking of doing the same.
There is one track that really winds me up and it's always the bloody one that your Rush-hating (tone deaf Kiss Fan) mates keep referencing.
Everyone has bad days and wishes there was an Undo button on the application of life and while most of the stuff is top notch aural Viagra, some of it can be the audio equivalent of an ear full of cold shower.
So which is it?
Just hearing "Rivendell" on Planet Rock today has reminded me how bad this song is.
Now I'm a mad, bad, sad Rush fan and not against a bit of Tolkien, but this was too cheesy even for my nerdy roots. It's the lyrics, (Sorry Pratt) that just don't work. Guitar work fine, vocals - nice change of range and pace, but cheese factor 10.
Still better than "Misty Mountain Hop" and the "Ballad of Bilbo Baggins" though...

Most of Vapour Trails ^^
Face Up
Chain Lightening
Well, there's a lot of 90s stuff that just never clicked with me, they're goo songs, just not favourites I guess.

Dog Years, You Bet Your Life, Rivendell, Madrigal, Carve Away the Stone, most of Vapor Trails, Anagram (For Mongo), I Think I'm Going Bald, Cinderella Man, and a few others are all skippable IMO.

Contenders for least favorite include:
The Necromancer
The Fountain of Lamneth
Virtuality
All of VT
However the song which claims the title of least favorite is Dog Years.

I think so far consensus is Dog Years.....But as for me it's Big Money. I can't stand that song for some reason! I absolutely loathed the video as well, back in 85' (I think). I go get my beer at that time, when it's played in concert.
But so what....... You know, Rush puts themself out there..... and 9.9 times out of ten, they pull it off! Gotta love 'em!
