    I had hoped

Same with me. The first song that I liked was The Wreckers, then the Garden.......I played through the album a few times questioning..".is it going to grow on me like all the other ones"? Alas after what....7 months I popped it back in and it really has! 7COG!! My gosh that song absolutely rocks, I think the only album that never grew on me was Presto..... I've tried & tried, but only a couple songs do it for me. As stated, no big deal.....there's so much more! What a great treasure of tunes I have for life. Thank You Rush!
  2. Hell.......I elected them in at the age of 13 after hearing Temples for the 1st time! I cast my ballot that day....& held the red star proudly high in hand!!
  3. This would be my guess. But what would really be fitting would be Wish Them Well! Good call! Very good call! Nice! I was thinking "La Villa." Give 'em something amazing that's NOT played on the radio, something to make the uninitiated go "Holy shit, those boys ARE good!" God...... I'd love for joe "clueless" public to chew on La Viila!!
  4. Spirit of Radio & Tom Sawyer.........Id like "Working Man!!!!!!!!!!!! Longest version possible!!!!
  5. OK, I think I got it......but I really have a hard time believing a couple of these were never played live....but oh well...here goes! 1. Losing it (should have played it on the CA tour....they had the violins to do it!) 2. Heresy 3. Different Strings 4. Bravest Face (would have bet the farm, they played this...) 5. Freeze 6. Vapor Trail.....seriously? never played? not even on the VT tour? 7. Peaceable Kingdom 8. The Color of Right 9. Tai Shan 10. Good News First
  6. Treeduck, I love your posts, cause I get to look at that hot girl everytime! Your so right about those lame institutions, I enjoy Rush so much, I could care less. I'll post this quote from Alex's Guitar World interview on this very topic: The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: I mean, everybody knows you guys should be in by now. Does it bother you that you’re not? Do you care? I really don’t care. I look at it like this: Last week we received the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Achievement, which is a very high honor in Canada. And we were also inducted into the Canadian Hall of Fame, and all those sorts of things. So, in that sense, I’m quite satisfied with those accolades, particularly the Governor General’s Award. That puts us in the company of some of the greatest Canadian creative minds of the last 20 years, since they started this. I really don’t feel the need to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame because, at the end of the day, it’s just somebody’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They have a particular process, and they’re welcome to do it however they want to do it. If they feel that they want to exclude a certain genre or certain bands from their hall of fame, they’re welcome to do it. I don’t need to be in there. I have no interest in going there. I think that so long as we keep this relationship, we probably both benefit. If Rush is not in there, the controversy continues, and it keeps Rush fans very pissed-off. There’s some great bands in there that I really respect. Just recently, it was great to see the Chili Peppers get in—I love those guys. But I don’t need it. I have no interest in going, and hope that we never will. If I was a Rush fan, I’d be like, “No man, don’t do it. Let’s keep this to ourselves, this little special thing.” I could'nt have said it any better! :rush:
  7. QUOTE (Animate @ Apr 16 2012, 11:31 PM) Hmm. This is an album that I only own on vinyl, bought circa 1985, and the last time I owned a turntable to play it on was circa 1987. So, it has been a while since giving P/G focused attention. Don't know how it got so shockingly overlooked. However, the three songs that I remember liking the most were Distant Early Warning, The Body Electric, and Red Sector A. My 13y/o asked me "what my favorite Rush song was?" Funny......I've never thought about it. I seem to always have Rush playing and never considered a fav. After careful deliberation, sweating and struggling...I came up with my all time favorite song: BTW (hands down) Lyrically and musically (to me) it is the most complete song ever!
  8. I'll buy it as soon as possible! I'm sitting right on Geddy's side & hope to make the video!! I can't get enough of all thier live dvd's. I just bought Chronicles today for 5 bucks ( didnt even know there was a video for this) I'm sure I will be rocking tonight though!!!
  9. Animate, No better first song on an album. Totally rocks!!!!!
  10. The Pass (followed by Bravado in concert) is back to back the best combination EVER. I almost passed out in 02 Vapor Trails concert when they paired these two (of my favs) on their set list!! Oh...my vote??? but of course----The Pass
  11. Total No Brainer!!!! Subdivisions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. God... I love this whole album, It has everything!!!! Probably one of Rush's best. I really have never tired of listening to this one. Voted for Freewill because I love Al's solo so much. But could have easily voted for all.
  13. 2112..... first Rush song ever heard in 1977. I was hooked, and have never looked back. Like em all, but the original is why I'm even here typing!!!
  14. Absolutely, unequivicably BTW!!! All are good, none are equal to this gem. To finally hear it live...........Priceless!!!!!!!!!
