Well... The Lerxt1990 met Geddy Lee today.  Wow.  Good advice on this thread and the other.  Friends, companions, line buddies could take photos (and it was easy nice vantage point from line - it was quick, there were a LOT of people.  About 10 second, hi hello smile and off.  But a genuine hello and some funny ball breaking about baseball and now the signed book.  Very cool event.

Has anyone done one of his signings? I'm not expecting a photo (even though I've seen people break that rule and it's never looked like a happy photo on Ged's end), but I'd appreciate a little back and forth. I was also looking to get a very short lyric written with the book autograph for a tattoo (I have 3 Rush tats already, one being Cinderella Man lyrics on my ribcage) - I'm not sure how flexible he is during these things or if it's up to him. Maybe there's more flexibility when you're there towards the front of the line? Also, don't want to pay the extra $100 to have someone wait with me and video the signing from the side - have stores been letting people in the store while he's there?

This once highly unlikely dream of mine is happening next week and just want to know how to maximize my very short amount of time during it.

From what the 1 person I know who went one said, your back and forth will consist of him asking your name and you telling him. He'll sign, say thank you and you'll  be ushered out. 10 seconds with him, tops.

Kinda what I figured. Ah well. I'd kick myself for not going, even if it's just 10 seconds. I bought a ticket for Chicago as soon as they went live.
Doing the same in Philly. I hope you get a good photo! I'm in a Rush FB group where 7 or 8 people have gone to the signings. Geddy looks pretty happy in many of them. I think the photo of "fan standing while Geddy signs their book" is expected by now, it's just that he's behind a table and can't hold up the line for repeated photos. In some places a store employee has been nice enough to take photos, in others, people ask the person behind them in line to take one. I'm not sure about the friend without a ticket, I would call the store and ask. My husband is coming with me to Philly and the Bookstore there said he can accompany me in the store but not all the way into  the book signing area.

How did you make out?  Lots of happy faces...

Here are my photos from this afternoon!  It was wonderful, mostly.  (Geddy and his handlers- 10 + !  Barnes and Noble- 1). It was quite the adventure all around.  We took the train from Harrisburg which is about 30 minutes away (Philly is hard to park in and afternoon traffic is bad.)  We thought that would be easier, but were stuck for awhile when a bad accident caused gridlock on the beltway and we went 3 miles in 45 minutes.  However, beautiful day, no other transportation problems and it was fun meeting other Rush fans and seeing all the different t shirts!

People who had been to other signings are right; it is a brief moment of time and Geddy was not real talkative during our part of the line, but it still was wonderful.  One of my main impressions was that I can't believe how much he looks exactly like his photos and videos!  (I've been to other book signings and most authors are not like that )

GIRL COMMENT I also couldn't believe how handsome his eyes are.  They are about 5 different colors, a hazel mix I guess, and he is good to look directly at people and this person when they were fan geeking out and thanking him. It was almost mesmerizing. :)   GIRL COMMENT. Photos!

Totally worth it, thank you Geddy Lee! (Even with B and N making me and another man sit on the floor all afternoon when Geddy had two chairs (aka my throne) set aside for us!)
I have an immune system disorder. When I have to stand for a long time, I get dizzy and faint; (it's not just a little woozy, I have an accommodation due to this. It's not much compared to what some people deal with but it's legit.) Called and talked to Barnes and Noble and they said, No problem, we will have chairs. Got there and the B and N staff said "no chairs", sorry. Another man and I spent most of the afternoon sitting on their lovely carpet while my husband was kind enough to hold a place in line. He finally gets close to the front and I go up- THERE ARE TWO FREAKING CHAIRS RIGHT IN FRONT OF GEDDY LEE FOR PEOPLE ! His handler said please sit down in them!  Watching Ged interact with other fans for about 10 minutes was so wonderful, it was worth it for that alone. He was so kind and respectful to everyone (and everyone was star struck!)  But no thanks to B and N (and this other poor man who was much worse off than me) that they said there were no chairs . . . grr...  However, they were pretty overwhelmed and there were a lot of fans!

Obviously I just should have arranged to faint in Ged's arms! Finishing up with a few other photos from today!  My husband met a twin (who also wears cargo shorts, !  My husband on the right. ). Ok enough, I'm over excited! But this is a Rush forum!

Yes, it was great!  And if you wondered who the weirdo was in the yoga stretches on the floor, that was me!

I was there too. Geddy was so nice. He talked to my husband and I for a few seconds and he was very personable.
