  1. Saw an identical scene at the Hamilton show on the CA tour - hilarious That's the scene at about 90 percent of my concert going experience! We made note of that fact in our review of The Time Machine show... RUSH The Time Machine-2010-Show Review
  2. It's also a very consistent album. I don't want to skip any tracks. Doing that, of course, would ruin the story's continuity. I can follow the story through the songs, it would make a great movie.
  3. That's too bad. I am sure that would been a fun gig! they even told them that Terry Brown would be there. Oh well. I am sure that he and you will have more opportunities soon.
  4. That's too bad. I am sure that would been a fun gig!
  5. I went to Rushcon III and we visited the Orbit Room. I hope that it can be recovered. The bar has a super cool vibe and it was a fun place to watch bands.
  6. I found this petition after finding out that there is no Rush channel on Sirius/XM Radio. This station would make a long road trip extra fun. https://www.change.org/p/every-lifelong-rush-fan-permanent-rush-channel-on-sirius-xm-radio
  7. It happens with all creative people. My husband and I watched "The Man Who Invented Christmas" last night. It was about how Charles Dickens wrote "A Christmas Carol", he was driven mad by the characters in his book. At one point in the movie, Charles Dicken said, "I need to get some fresh air alone, after all I am the author." The Scrooge character replied, "Allegedly." Do we write the songs or are they divinely inspired?
  8. You can have that kind of inspiration again. I call it Beta wave inspiration. It happens when you are most relaxed.
  9. There is a quote from Neil Young somewhere, I think when he was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters' Hall of Fame. He said his songs were always like wild rabbits- he had to kind of circle them and then sneak up quietly to catch 'em. I hope you get lots of inspiration if that process is easier for you! :) I get inspired at the most inconvenient times, for example, when I am about to fall asleep. I wrote a song about it, because it would not let me go. I know that Keith Richards woke up in the middle of the night and recorded the riff to Satisfaction on a home recorder. Where would the Stones be without that song? Inspiration comes from above and I am glad that it chooses me as a vessel.
  10. As a songwriter- writing what I want to write can be difficult...however, writing what I am inspired to write is a walk in the park
  11. I'm so glad he's coming to Pittsburgh! And the New York people that didn't get a chance last year might get to see him too! I am glad that he is coming to Pittsburgh too. Pittsburgh is where Rush started their career with Neil.
  12. my Rush introduction was to "The Trees", my brother's friend read me and his little brother the lyrics, and then wailed it out on a Marshall amp. I was fascinated. I was also five. I have been with these guys for a life time and I am so grateful. They opened up my curiosity and imagination at a very young age.
  13. Well, pretty much all of things you've listed happen to be pluses in my book. I guess that explains why I love this band, even though I have two X-chromosomes. I agree.
  14. I have loved Rush since I was a five year old little girl. I loved the lyrics and I was blown away by the imaginative expressive stories in their music.
