I like both a lot, but AFTK wins for me. It's more distinct.

Circumstances always sounded to me like a song that belongs more with a group of songs on the side 2 of 2112(this song would make that album side fairly stronger).

AFTK because it's doesn't those f***ing French lyrics!

Just kidding. I like both, but AFTK has more going for it.

Circumstances is #3 on my all time Rush songs, just behind Cygnus X1 and The Necromancer

So, Circumstances wins this one

Easily AFTK, no contest.

That instrumental break in AFTK is one of my favorite musical moments of all time. The interplay between Geddy and Neil, with Alex guiding the whole things from on top. Cinderella Man also has a great one.

Yeah, Kings.  I'll take the bugshit crazy guitar solo over the relatively simple guitar pattern under the keyboard thing in Circumstances.  But I do love Circumstances.

Also the acoustic intro never ceases to put a smile on my face. Once that moog comes in halfway through...chills.

I have two friends who insist that there is a really noticeable gaff in that classical intro, but I can't figure out what the hell they're talking about.

It sounds perfect to me, lol.

Though I've always thought I've heard a "wrong" note in CTTH right at the very beginning. It doesn't sound bad, but it's just a hair different from the way he plays the acoustic pattern over the rest of the track.

The whole thing sounds really stiff and ham-handed to me.

A Farewell to Kings is a top five song for me, but I love Circumstances too. I listened to Kings and Hemispheres back to back while mowing yesterday and there's no doubt in my mind...these are the two best Rush albums.
