Always felt the same about Powerslave. The first two and last two songs are as good as anything you can get from Maiden. Everything else is just fine. They needed to write enough music to make a full album and that's exactly what the middle of that album has always sounded like to me.

yea Losfer Words is the very definition of filler. Duelllists.......meh.....flash of the Blade........can't remember it.........Back in the Village......annoying.

Powerslave the song and Rime in particular save this from really sucking and the first 2.......sorry if powerslave fans hate me but never thought this album deserved the attention.

I love the whole middle! It's energetic and does the signature Maiden thing for a good length of time: has me visualizing epic battles between Eddie and 1 million opponents sure to die at his hands set to the galloping rhythm of horses and war drums!

I just realized the title of this thread is "rank Iron Maiden albums," which implies that some Iron Maiden albums are "rank" (meaning they stink, very badly). Which ones are they??

Fear Of The Dark and Virtual XI.

The second half of Fear is very bad. Only the title track saves it from being a complete loss. Virtual is just a case of having a boring singer that brought no life to the band which caused most of the songs to suffer badly.

Oh yeah, The Angel And The Gambler might just be Maiden's worst song.

I wouldn't recommend two of Iron Maiden's studio released c.ds, and albums. Even though Bruce Dickinson, wasn't the lead singer on their "Iron Maiden", and "Killers" ones as Paul Di'Anno, was the lead singer on their first two studio releases, it's not those two. The two of them are: "the X Factor", and "Virtual XI", where Blaze Bayley, was the lead singer on those two studio releases. If I haven't listened to all, or any of Iron Maiden's studio releases, and was wanting to get into the band, and group, or more, I would completely avoid those two studio releases of theirs.
