Testaments last album sold 20,000 in its first week and that was considered a success. It's definitely a nice blend of dark, broody metal with some lighter QOTSA rock elements and stoner rock riffage. The production catches my ear the most though (as someone interested in these things). They have a very balanced sound which is refreshing, they're not shoving or pounding the music into my ears. It may even be a touch too balanced. Certain elements jump out as being too clean and tame, kinda separate from the other instruments (mostly the drums and some of the organ - they sound like they're in another room, which is sound stage speak for saying they're not blended into the overall mix). Anyway, that's enough of my inner music nerd. The vocal harmonies have a certain sameness track to track which I don't particularly care for.
