I know most don't agree with me, but I really like this album.

Considering the circumstances leading up to it, it could have been ALOT worse.

There are some great songs on this album.

I'd go with:

One Little Victory

Earthshine

Ceiling Unlimited

Then again, that's just me.

SECRET TOUCH IS AN EMOTIONAL MONSTER RIDE!!!!!

Heart rippin, Gut wrenchen, pure friggin emotion.

It's like the moment when the breath gets Knocked out of you, Before the first gasp!

Coming back to life after loss, how did the boys put pure feeling to Music, and you can feel it!!

A masterpiece all musicians should strive for!!!!

One of the Best Rush songs yet!

IMO cool.gif

To me, it's Vapor Trail followed closely by Sweet Miracle. Both of these are absolute gems. Sometimes they switch around.

Then it's Freeze, Earthshine, One Little Victory, How It Is, Nocturne, Ghost Rider, Peaceable Kingdom, The Stars Look Down, Secret Touch, Ceiling Unlimited, and Out Of The Cradle.

Vapor Trail followed by Secret Touch. The drums in the former are just great to be swept away in, especially the chorus and I get chills from Secret Touch listening to "You can never break the chain"

"Ghost Rider," easily. rose.gif

I totally agree with LakesideMaiden. It has powerful lyrics and is simply haunting. When you know all that had happened to Neil to inspire this song, you have a whole new appreciation for it. I always get chills and feel tears in my eyes while listening to "Ghost Rider." heart.gif

Freeze+Earthshine had been tied for first with me since I got the album. Once I saw it live, Earthshine was definatly a highlight, but it made me appreciate Freeze more. Earthshine once I saw it live no longer was my own song, it was everybody's who saw it. I still only have ever listened to Freeze by myself, so I get a completely different feeling from it then I do Earthshine now, or even Earthshine when I first bought it to now.

I just love Freeze.

Those are my two favorites as well! I went for Freeze b/c I love the chorus section and how cool the vocal lines are sung, but Earthshine is an equally great song.

After only liking a few songs off this album for years, I can now finally say:

I can listen to the first 9 tracks straight through without skipping. It took a while for The Stars Look Down and How It Is to get to me, but now I like both of them.

How It Is just speaks the honest truth.

"You can't tell yourself not to care

You can't tell yourself how to feel

That's how it is"

i like VT, have since the begnning. i, too, take it through the first nine tracks, but the ones that needed to grow on me (and thus cease being skipped) were "Peaceable Kingdom" and "Secret Touch." love the rest and could do without the last four, tho I prefer all of them to a lot of the 80s stuff. 1022.gif
