A friend of mine misheard the lyrics in "The Weapon" - He's a little bit afraid of dying...But he's a lot more afraid of Your Lion.

I thought it was pretty funny, and now that's what I always hear when listening to the song....and since I like cats too, I thought I'd use it as a name

Nothing to do with Rush. It's a play on Beatlefan magazine, featuring the Pre-Fab Four ("I want to tell you I'm in love with you, completely. I'd like to take you far away from here, discretely." ):

I used it on a whim years ago and then just kept using it, though I do really love Neil Innes (plays the John Lennon "Ron Nasty" character; most people would remember him as Robin's singing minstrel in Monty Python and the Holy Grail ... "He's not afraid ..."). Here's a favorite that Bob Dylan fans might like. I seem to remember him being on a live Monty Python album, and introduced this song saying, "I've suffered for my music, now it's your turn"):

I always thought it was a play on the words, "you're lying."

It doesn't. It was the muddy hillside in Vermont where Phish played their last shows in 2004 - before returning in 2009.

Combining "Circumstances" and "The Trees" from Hemispheres into a descriptive name. Also, the tragic "circumstantial" events surrounding the battle between the oaks and maples.

Well, my favorite RUSH song has no lyrics, so I derived my name from the lyrics of my second favorite RUSH song. I could have simply gone with "The Necromancer", but I figured that was probably already taken, and I think "Empty Mindless Spectre" sounds pretty cool.

I like the story of your friend mishearing, "your lying" because whenever I would see your username, I would get all defensive, "I am NOT lying!"
