but there's always 2018, I guess.

Hopefully

The Islanders might not agree with you if Tavares is not available next week.

He's out for the season :scared:

And Garth Snow is furious.

Another guy who doesn't care about international competition like so many other people in North America. Playing for your country is alien to them because all they think of is Chicago vs Detroit or Pittsburgh vs Philadelphia. Really sad.

One of your top employees gets hurt moonlighting. I'd be a little pissed.

Injuries can happen at any time, even when you're taking a shower. You know what every GM in Europe would be saying after losing his player in this situation? "I hope our country can still prevail." Or in Snow's case, " Canada lost a star, that helps team USA."

The best part is where Snow basically implies that people are only paying to see Tavares and not the rest of his awful team.

It's not like NHL teams don't benefit from having their players in the Olympics. It's a great way to advertise the league and its stars on the world stage, essentially for free, and it's no more dangerous than a midweek game against the Florida Panthers. And if your team isn't good enough to withstand a season-ending injury or two, well...you're gonna have problems regardless.

I'm kind of crushed.

Why in heaven's name didn't we try to get the puck in over Price's shoulder? We were pretty predictable with our shots, no wonder he saved them, seesh... :smash:  Guess the hockey gods are not on our side...and the brackets were set up so a european team would be guaranteed to be in the final. For the Bronze against Finland...kinda anti climatic :eyeroll: :hockeygoon:
