Mine...base on how they continue to move & engage me. The ones I'm likely to listen to repeatedly for a week, skipping no tracks.

5. :rush:

4. Presto

3. Moving Pictures

2. Caress of Steel

1. Permanent Waves

Vapor Trails just misses the cut. Hemispheres, side two would make the top 5 album sides.

Hold Your Fire? Seriously people?

Dude......lot's of Rush fans are Rush fans because of Hold Your Fire.

They have transcended 3 generations going on 4 brother.

That is the sign of an all time great band.

And Hold Your Fire is a brilliant album. f***ing brilliant.

I am personally amazed by how popular HYF is but whatever...the diversity of faves is always pleasing!

Hold Your Fire is unsung brilliance.

I wish it had been unsung.

As of June 14, 2014, this is my current top five albums:

1. A Farewell To Kings

2. Hemispheres

3. Moving Pictures

4. Counterparts ( :o :o :o )

5. Power Windows

I must amend my top five list:

1. A Farewell To Kings

2. Hemispheres

3. Permanent Waves

4. Moving Pictures

5. Grace Under Pressure

:)

I have concluded that it is almost blasphemous to include Counterparts in this list.

That's a good list. With one tiny exception...

In no order:

Hemispheres

Permanent Waves

Moving Pictures

Power Windows

Grace Under Pressure

Well the first 3 would always be there but about half the remaining albums could make the top 5 from one day to the next.

Thanks! Currently I am hooked on Rush, and my favourites are changing all the time. But I replayed AFTK, and nothing tops it. At all.

Five isn't enough for a top 5! Damnit!

Signals is a great bass players album and New World Man was the first complete bass song I ever played from Geddy. Special place in my heart and Digital Man... wow.

Hemispheres is a freaking opus! MP is incredible. PeW... glorious as well. 2112 is epic. What to knock off?

AFTK deserves a top spot for Xanadu alone...

I'm confused!

I just read it that you thought Signals was a better album than AFTK. No biggie......

Nope. Just a special album to me for a lot of reasons. The first album I sat down (picking up the record needle) and learned Geddy's bass lines to. He taught me a lot about how to play on that album.

I have a feeling that they will yet do another Xanadu. I know they have it in them.

CA is full of moments that suggest this to me...Headlong Flight with a push could have been something gamechanging...as could have the title track...

Yes, that is why I have the feeling that their next album will be even better. They are going in the right direction.

Another Xanadu is right around the corner.......

Not unless they clean up the sound and all the layers in my opinion..... :(
