Cant do it because I would never use the title "Perfect Rush Album - the Synth Years"

Sorry, Animate. Maybe you can make "The Optimal Rush Album - the Synth Years"

Fair enough! Ok, here is my "Optimal Rush Album- Synth Era CD"

1. Analog Kid

2. New World Man

3. Body Electric

4. Between the Wheels

5. Manhattan Project

6. Territories

7. Open Secrets

8. Turn the Page

TBH- it was suprising hard to pick just 8 unsure.gif

You have good taste. Although your pivk of the body electric is a bit puzzling

Ha! I was actually going to put the moon icon beside The Body Electric, because it is put down so much!

Granted, the drum/bass intro is probably one of the weakest song intros and does not fit with the overall tone of the song. Especially compared to the cool intros of so many of the synth album songs. But, if you can get through that 15s, it turns into a bombastic song. Especially the end- total bombast.

And, until Clockwork Angels, The Body Electric was to be the last in the illustrious lineage of Rush SciFi/Fantasy story songs. So, here is the company tBE rightfully belongs in:

By-Tor

Rivendell

Necromancer

TFOL

2112

Xanadu

Cygnus X-1

Hemispheres

Red Barchetta

The Body Electric

Let me see if I can do this... although I highly doubt it since P/g! and PoW are perfect like they are and Signals and HYF both have songs I'd want to put on it.

Only 8?

Hmmmm

1. The Analog Kid

2. The Enemy Within

3. Grand Designs

4. The Weapon

5. The Big Money

6. Open Secrets

7. Between The Wheels

8. Afterimage

are there even 8 good songs on these albums?

srsly?

there's only 2 truly weak songs on those entire 4 albums. SO many great songs to choose from. yes.gif

I'd say between the 34 songs, maybe 17 good ones? confused13.gif

Although I am biased because 2 of my bottom 3 Rush albums are Signals and Hold Your Fire. laugh.gif

Realized that there actually was a song on Hold Your Fire that I could shoehorn onto this.

Side 1:

"Force Ten"

"The Analog Kid"

"Territories"

"Afterimage"

Side 2:

"Middletown Dreams"

"Mystic Rhythms"

"Between the Wheels"

"Losing It"

I don't like having two Power Windows tracks back-to-back like that, but I don't know what to do about it.

Signals Under Pressure Window Fire

1. Force Ten

2. Subdivisions

3. Manhattan Project

4. Between The Wheels

5. Open Secrets

6. Marathon

7. Mission

8. Mystic Rhythms

As you can probably tell, I'm a big fan of the latter 2 albums (not that I dislike Signals and P/G by any means!). Don't want to blow my own trumpet but this album is frickin' musical perfection as far as I'm concerned :)
