It's kind of amazing there's even people wondering about the next tour when this one hasn't started yet.

Yes, Yes it is amazing! Almost as amazing as RUSH and Spiderman!

tongue.gif

Would it be cool if they had special guests sing the songs that Geddy can't sing from the past?

I like Geddy singing his own songs but I'll play along. They must be great singers with ultra high voices as:

Jon Anderson (Yes)

Robert Plant (Led Zepplin)

Cedric Bixler-Zavala (Mars Volta)

Besides the above I don't know who else would do them Justice. And these guys might not be able to handle it. Vedric Bixler-Zavala might. He's young and sing really damn high but I would prefer to have Geedy singing his own damn songs if I had a choice. This sounds like a good thread you should start one. Expect Hell!!!

Sebastian Bach

Mark Slaughter

Lead singer from great white does a killer version of Analog Kid

That's not hard! I can do a killer version of Analog Kid!

wink.gif

That's right singin man...forgot about that!!! are you a bi-lingual singer?

I sing in all sorts of languages:

Latin, English, French, German, Hebrew and yes Spanish!

We are performing Carl Orff's Carmina Burana in Latin and German Latin in November, the day prior and after RUSH!

2.gif 1022.gif 2.gif

You better not scream too loud on the night of the show. Save that voice for the gig.

Yeah, I know, Its going to be really hard. I'm usually that guys that sings with every song, Well more like harmonizes with every song. I must really annoy the people infront of me during 2.gif concerts.

I think it would be a good idea! Spread the instrumentals around into two sets, throw in 4 Epics (Natural Science, The Camera Eye, Xanadu and Jacobs Ladder) and a few Staples and Geddy would hardly even have to sing. I'm telling you it would be a night to remember.

Set 1:

R40 Instrumedley:

(Finding My Way/ By-Tor & the Snowdog/ The Necromancer/ A Passage to Bangkok/ Cygnus X-1)

Hemispheres (Prelude)

Limelight

Caravan

Where's my Thing?

Leave that thing Alone

Limbo

The Main Monkey Business

Jacobs Ladder

Hope/New Instrumental (Regular Length starts with Acoustic Guitar called "Instrumental Influences")

Clockwork Angels

Natural Science

2112 Overture/ Temples/Finale

Set 2:

The Spirit of Radio

The Camera Eye

New Instrumental (New Alex Solo mainly Strange guitar Sounds and effects called "Akward" )

New Instrumental (Longer length called "Silence")

Driven (with Geddy's bass solo)

MalNar

The Anarchist

Didacts and Narpits

YYZ

New Instrumental (Drum solo by Neil called "SkinTrade")

Broon's Bane/The Trees

La Villa Stangiatto

Xanadu (Entire)

Closer to the Heart (Extended-Jam)

Encore:

Far Cry

Tom Sawyer

Headlong Flight

This would pretty much be the lamest thing ever and make me lose complete respect for the band. I can't imagine just watching the band out there on stage, wailing away on their instruments with Geddy Lee never uttering a single lyric. Edited by NYM86

If you get rid of Where's my thing, I would be into it. I have to say that it might be boring for the non-musician. I would really enjoy it though.

I'm not a musician but I would still really enjoy it! 1022.gif

The two are not connected. I'm sure if we look through TRF hard enough we'll find that most think that there will never be a 4th member added. And there won't!

What are you talking about? There are 16 songs on that list that utilize vocals yes, it also has all the instrumentals and more.

Well according to the article on RIAB looks like there will be a tour after Clockwork Angels. Looks like we'll get an R40 Tour after all!

2.gif  1022.gif  2.gif

Does it say "there will be a tour after Clockwork Angels" or "there will be an R40 tour after Clockwork Angels"? There's a big difference imho. The way your post reads makes it seem that RIAB is saying the latter.

Nah.

Rush are all about musical wizardry built around strong melodies and lyrics.

Take away the latter to this degree and I would just assume they call it a day.

A " Day " of wonderful instrumental melodies and sonic passages.

Are you guys seriously entertaining the idea of a vocalist other than Geddy singing for 2.gif at their own concert? SHAME ON YOU. dazed025.gif

I think TM meant for songs that Geddy can no longer sing as a guess for like one song or so. Many bands have done this. I don't really care for it but I'd play along for the hell of it. Like I said before, I would perfer just to hear Geddy sing his own damn songs.
