sitboaf
Create your prefect Prog-era Rush album by combining stuff from CoS, 2112, aFtK and H Here's the rules: 1. One of the album sides must be a sidelong epic (Lamneth, 2112 or Hemispheres). 2. Must contain at least one long song (Necromancer, Xanadu, La Villa or Cygnus X-1). 3. Must contain at least one song from each of the four albums. 4. Must not exceed 45:00 in length. Go!

sitboaf
QUOTE Total - 45:25 (I went over - sue me - too many restrictions for this thread!) Only over by 25 seconds, and with the minimum 4 songs. I'll allow it! A record company in 1978 would never let Bastille Dave go over by nearly 9 minutes, however. It wouldn't fit on a vinyl LP! Foul. Flying Finn
Side A 2112 Side B Xanadu Bastille Day La Villa Strangiato Yes, it's over 45 min but still would make a legitimate LP. Foxtrot by Genesis is 53 minutes. Edited August 20, 2012 by Flying Finn
Lost In Xanadu
QUOTE (Flying Finn @ Aug 20 2012, 01:58 PM) Side A 2112 Side B Xanadu Anthem La Villa Strangiato Yes, it's over 45 min but still would make a legitimate vinyl. Foxtrot by Genesis is 53 minutes. You didn't follow the rules... and it has nothing to do with length of tracks...

sitboaf
QUOTE Yes, it's over 45 min but still would make a legitimate LP. Foxtrot by Genesis is 53 minutes. Fair enough. I picked 45 minutes not because it's the standard length of an old-school vinyl LP, but because the longest of the Kimono albums, Caress of Steel, is almost exactly 45 minutes long. Besides, this exercise would be easy and boring if we were allowed to fill up a 78 minute CD-R. Having said that, I'm drooling over the perfect, tiny playlists you guys have made. Check this out... 3 more under 45 minutes with no overlap: Caress of Kings 2112 Bastille Day Closer To The Heart The Trees Xanadu 21 Spheres A Farewell To Kings Cinderella Man Something For Nothing La Villa Strangiato The Fountain Of Lamneth HemiSteel A Passage To Bangkok The Necromancer Cygnus X-1 Cygnus X-1 Book 2 Hemispheres
