Memories fading fast

Weird... I'm in my 30s and seem to be forgetting stuff a lot lately... especially at work. People asking about projects and I find myself saying "I think I wrote that code, let me check" I cannot remember crap I did a month ago.

Seems way worse at work than at home. Maybe it's being totally overloaded? Maybe it's the fact I pretty much quit drinking and the beer isn't killing off the weaker brain cells?

I'm in the same boat except I never quit drinking. I think , at least in my case, it has a lot to do with overload, stress, fatigue, even calling on an adrenaline boost sometimes to pound through a big pile of work.

Mmmmmm. Endorphins!

I can remember the lyrics to songs I haven;t heard in decades and the most inane trivia you can imagine but often find myself unable to remember where I am going or what I am doing. It's fun.

That's not a bad thing...when you forget people you don't wanna remember.

Ex BFs/GFs or bosses that you hated.

The joints get stiff too.

I already have arthritis in my right thumb. It's so bad. There's no cartilage left. Hurts like a mofo if I have to do anything with my right hand. No comments, please, thanks.

Btw, I'm only 39. Turning the big 4-0 this summer.

- The old fireman geezer on Leave it to Beaver was called Gus.

- In the original Spider-Man cartoon from the 60s he fights Mysterio in one of the episodes...Mysterio faces Spidey and says the stupidest line ever, "Overconfident fool! My power is greater than yours!"

- My first grade teacher Mrs. Ferrell smelled like mothballs.

- Greg Brady once sang one gem of a shitty song that went, "Clowns never laughed before, beanstalks never grew, ponies never ran before, until I met you."

Today I was standing in front of my desk at work looking at the books & papers on it while trying hard as hell to remember what I wanted. It took me probably 3 minutes to realize that I was looking for my red pen which is usually in my pocket anyway. And it was! banghead.gif
