laughedatbytime Posted April 2, 2012 Share Posted April 2, 2012 I think the record company changed it for final pressings, but Neil Peart's original concept for the cover was based on the famous (or infamous) butcher block cover of the Beatles' Yesterday and Today cover... http://www.amoeba.com/dynamic-images/blog/Amoebite/butcher-cover-the-beatles.jpg The original variation of it had each band member holding a severed head of a famous rock critic... Geddy was holding the disembodied (fake) head of Jann Wenner, Alex, Robert Christgau's. and Geddy, Jon Landau's. If it werent actually an album cover I would hang it up. Im not a big Coldplay fan, but I have some of their albums, including this one.
