treeduck
I heard the news on the BBC's Friday Rock Show with Tommy Vance, he'd died that day in America, so 5 hours ahead at 10 pm the news was fresh off the press. It was a big shock!
Rick N. Backer
QUOTE (metaldad @ Mar 25 2012, 05:57 PM)I had tix for 2 shows, the first was 10 days after he died . Me too. I saw Ozzy on the Diary tour at the Boston Garden about 2 weeks after Randy died. Bernie Torme played guitar, and was great, but there was only one Randy. RIP. driventotheedge
There's a number of people/bands I've always been really glad I saw before their all too early demise, the REAL Skynyrd (1976), Stevie Ray (1989) etc. and I count Randy high on this list (Blizzard tour, Seattle July 12, 1981). Dude was amazing live. RIP Randy! Edited March 25, 2012 by driventotheedge

Perchance to Dream
The airplane that Rhoads died in actually hit Ozzy's tour bus while he was sleeping in it. Crazy, huh? RIP
go2wrk@95974
QUOTE (Perchance to Dream @ Mar 25 2012, 05:59 PM) The airplane that Rhoads died in actually hit Ozzy's tour bus while he was sleeping in it. Crazy, huh? RIP Yeah, that's right. From what I recall, the pilot was playin' a form of "chicken", to scare the crap outta Ozzy..and get Ozzy to wake up out of his drunkin' slumber...didn't work like he planned, obviously. Sad and tragic, no question.

The greatest guitar player who never lived! By that I mean could you imagine if he never got on that airplane? He would have taken over the world!!! DAMN!!!! I'm depressed!!! I think about the loss of SRV too!!! "IMAGINE" if they both lived long lives. Signed, John Lennon
