The problem for me is not the Hate, it's when Sammy acts like his lyrics were so much better than Roth's. He always said he can't relate to Dave's lyrics but his are Worse than Roth's. In fact, I like all the albums with Sammy, even though I think the band had a completely different sound, like Sabbath with Dio and Ozzy. Some guys can pull of the suggestive lyrics and they sound witty. Steve Tyler up until Pump is a perfect example of this. Sammy's lyrics always seemed either forced (Good Enough) or sappy (When It's Love). I like his voice though, and I'm not looking for insight into the human condition when I listen to VH. It's just mainly fun gibbirish that Sam probably sang on the fly. It worked. It's a VH song in every sense...awesome guitars, entertaining 'lyrics', cool vocal melodies, and an all-around fun atmosphere. I LOVE 'Source of Infection'. That and 'Sucker In a 3 Piece' are probably my two favourite tunes on OU812, along with Mine All Mine and Finish What Ya Started. I think that OU812 is way better than most people give it credit for.
