First the knife fight at the computer centre; a bunch of computer nerds pull out knives and decide to fight Jude Law to the death? Puuuurlease! Then he guts himself with a knife in order to fake a reclaim, and five minutes later acts like nothing happened, he just glues himself up! And then he does the same thing to the girl who appears to die and he revives her with the old syringe to the chest maneuver. Stupid! Then worst of all it all turns out to be a dream he's been having after Forest Whitaker beat the crap out of him and he's really in a fuckking coma with a bucn hof metal rods sticking out of his head! Great movie but boy do they attract trouble like flies to a turd. Segue Myles Posted January 25, 2014 Share Posted January 25, 2014 (edited) Porco Rosso Odd, genuinely touching japanese anime that feels more like a blend of european arthouse cinema and classic wartime era Hollywood ala Casablanca than any asian film I have ever seen... Not anywhere close to being my favourite Miyazaki movie, Porco Rosso has stood up to repeat viewings, and I think it deserves to be recognised as a great movie. Proves my theory that Hayao Miyazaki couldn't make a bad film even if he tried. Here's hoping The Wind Rises lives up to the rest of his great legacy...
