What did you think of it? Better or worse then the first one? How many points do you give it, there 10 is best?

And have you seen the first one? What did you think of that one? How many points do you give the first movie?

I saw the first one when it came out and loved it. It´s one of my favourite movies of all time. I have it on DVD at home and still watch it every now and then.

As for the second one, I was really excited about it when the first previews came up,but then a few friends of mine kept telling me how it was crap, and how "we used to laugh at jokes like this 20 years ago, but not anymore". Luckily I decided to call their bluff and went to see it. I quite liked it! It´s almost like a mirror of the first one, with Harry and Lloyd being involved in similar / analogous situations.

How did you like it? It's the one where the crew has those strobelight flashbacks about having an orgy? I thought it was really bad at the time...

I didn´t see any flashbacks about orgies - they had flashbacks with lost relatives. Maybe you watched an unrated version?

Overall, the visuals are impressive - I found it hard to believe it was done in 1997. But in spite of all the gore and original idea, the plot drags a little bit, and you can easily predict every scene on the second half of the movie. No wonder it was a box office flop.

I seem to remember that the ship travelled to some kind of dimension and all the crew turned evil and had an orgy and then killed each other, snuff movie style, but it was all told in flashbacks so fast that they could give you seizures. It's practically all I remember about this movie, aside the design of the ship.

I followed my pal Treeduck on his path to Jasonstathamness and watched this:

It was ok. Jason's London accent is almost undecipherable I had to watch it dubbed. I was going to say that it too much "realistic" to be a Statham movie, until the finale. Anyway, I loved the character of this hard-headed, dirty, bad to the bone London cop but he's respectful of gays. It was like, that's progressive thinking for ya!

Well as an English guy there's never a problem with Jason's accent for me.

My Statham kick is coming to the grand finale tonight.

Hey I get the feeling you didn't like the Crank films, I thought they were pretty funny and entertaining in an over the top way.

Thanks for that.

I will download it and see it when it comes out on bluray.

This remake is decent and I actually preferred it to the Stalone original which I was disappointed with when I revisited it recently.

This remake is nowhere near as good as the original, and in fact it's mostly boring. I like Statham but this film just makes you appreciate how good Charles Bronson really was.

Do you ever miss the good old mysteries, just like old Hitchcock used to make 'em? Well, this is clearly an effort to make a "Hitch" movie in 2014, and Ridley Scott producing notwithstanding, it looks and feels like a B-movie.

I like Mark Strong's presence, and Firth plays the creep quite expertly. Even Kidman isn't annoying. All in all, an ok movie but nothing more.

Actually I'm saving the Crank movies for a time when I'll be alone to watch them. I can sit my wife through Statham movies where he plays the cop, and she will TOLERATE the Driver series, but the Crank premise is off limits. I remember when a promo for the first movie came up on tv and she said: what kind of s*it is that??

So let me see if I understand...this guy was the agent, the girl, the boy, the bomber and the baby as well?? I wonder if he was Robertson as well? :AlienSmiley:

I thought that myself, really! After all they had the same moustache!! Apart from that, did you like it?

Pretty good comedy, I got a good amount of laughs which is rare for most recent comedy films. I have no idea why they made a sequel though, seems to be the norm for any vaguely successful hollywood film these days.

Yeah it was interesting. The main character is a tragic figure and in the end he knew it was all his fault because he'd truly f*cked himself! :16ton:

Just wait for Redbox or HBO Go if you're gonna watch the sequel since HBO plays New Line/WB movies. The humor in it is too forced at times compared to the hilarious and better original. It isn't appallingly awful like Hangover 2 but it ain't that good either. As excited as I am to see Waltz as a Bond villain, he needs a new agent because apart from Carnage and Django, he's being typecast as villains in action and comedy movies ever since Inglorious.

DVD - The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug extended version

I preferred the Extended Edition to the theatrical version, which I found a bit of a disappointment.

I was annoyed they didn't do the bit with Gandalf introducing the Dwarves two at a time to Beorn...which I always loved in the books, so I was very happy to see that part in the extended cut.

I also loved the added Mirkwood parts. In the theatrical version, they entered the wood, there were a few brief shots of them walking, then straight to the spiders....but the added scenes made it seem much more like the difficult, and weird slog that it was in the book.

The added bits made everything make more sense, especially with why Gandalf went off to the Mountain alone.

The Hunger Games. I don't even like the Hunger Games, but it was $6 cheaper than the stupid ballet movie we had originally planned to see.
