New Iron Maiden album - Book of Souls
driven_to_xanadu replied to The Analog Cub's topic in Music Of The Spheres
I've listened to the first 3 songs for the first time just now, this sounds like some of Maiden's best material!! A lot better than Final Frontier that's for sure. -
Soundgarden: Badmotorfinger, Superunknown Rush: Signals, Grace Under Pressure Yes: Fragile, Close to the Edge Led Zeppelin: Houses of the Holy, Physical Grafitti Iron Maiden: Piece of Mind, Powerslave Genesis: Foxtrot, Selling England by the Pound ELP: Trilogy, Brain Salady Surgery

They'll do a record and a string of 5-6 selected shows (NY, LA, maybe London) I think it could be 1.5 or 2 years before we hear anything though.

One of the best songs from Test for Echo. Only Resist is better

Jacob's Ladder or Natural Science Take your pick....

What is your favourite song in the "FEAR" qualdrilogy?
driven_to_xanadu replied to TheWatchMaker97's topic in Rush
The Weapon would be my favorite. Nothing beats it. Although I do think Freeze is pretty underrated, it's just the weak lyrics that put me off. -
Genesis - Trespass Pink Floyd- Wish You Were Here Yes- Fragile

Going to be in for a long hard adjustment

Sorry to hear that, I'm dealing with the loss of my grandfather at the moment. It's tough but all you can really do is hang in there. -
I love A Farewell to Kings, I think it is probably the best thing on the album aside from Xanadu and maybe Cygnus X-1. I would go as far as to herald it as the best 4-5 min 70's Rush song.

One of the best songs from Counterparts, along with Animate and Leave That Thing Alone. The chorus is the best part, so powerful!

Blasphemy! Superconductor is just about the only track from Presto that I don't like.
-
Red Lenses would be my least favorite. Superconductor as the runner up.

The more I listen to HYF..the more I like it. At first it was too soft and mellow but I have come to really appreciate it as one of their finer albums. The lyrics are my favorite part of the album. Neil really came up with some interesting thoughtful subjects. Songs like Force Ten, Open Secrets, Lock & Key and Turn the Page are really rocking. The drumming and guitar work is actually impressive despite the prominent synths. I also like the mellow stuff like Time Stand Still, Second Nature and Tai Shan. They were able to strike a good balance on this album with slower and faster songs I think.
