Of my 2,000+ cd's, I probably have 5-7 discs from this decade. unsure.gif

One must not dwell in the past.

Not really in this day and age.

Atleast for me.

I've been into Rose Hill Drive lately as far as new bands go. they actually played a gig here in Bellingham some time ago. I had a thread on it here somewhere. Their albums are mellower than their live show, but they're a good '70's-ish sounding band. Moon is the New Earth kinda has a Cheap Trick vibe to it somehow.

Another band is Priestbird. Imagine if '73 ELO stared turning into more of a hard rock band thanpop. Nice cellos and piano on this one.

fledgehog has a nice long list but, he said there are plenty of GOOD bands waiting to be discovered. Am I going to take the time to listen to all of those bands? probably not. and Im sure there are plenty of bands waiting to be discovered, but thats the point, they HAVEN'T been discovered and probably for a good reason.

Now im not saying this applies to all new bands but 9 times out of 10 a new band I check out just doesn't do anything for me.

Dawes

Best Coast

Arcade Fire

Alicia Keys

B.o.B. - He's the real master at "emo rap" instead of that overrated hack, Drake.

Big Boi - I used to think Andre 3000 was the better half. I'm siding with Big Boi as I've gotten older. His new album is very good.

Florence + The Machine

Gary Clark Jr.

Muse

Ben Folds Five - Yep, they're back. :)

anything involving Jack White

Black keys

here's a local band from here in Edmonton.

they have at least a couple albums out and they're on tour overseas right now.. sexy female singer that growls/screams but also sings and has a nice voice!

they're not new to me but I thought I'd share :)
