Well, I have recently fallen in love with the "Clash of the Titans" soundtrack as well as the "Da Vinci Code" and "Angels & Demons" soundtracks.

Now, what are your favorite ones, or just fallen in love with ones?

The old 70's and 80's rock-n-roll soundtracks. "Heavy Metal" remains one of my faves alltime. I just found the "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" LP at a store lately.

Fast Times... what a great movie, dude!

Now every time I hear that The Cars song (can't think of the name, right now) I think of the swimming pool/bathroom fantasy scene. lol

"Xanadu" (1980)

"A River Runs Through It" (1992)

"Titanic" (1997)

"Sixteen Candles" (1984) - although it only has five songs, there were plenty more tunes in the movie. Don't know why these weren't included.

"Dancer in the Dark" (1999)

"Grease" (1978)

"Saturday Night Fever" (1977)

I LOVE the "Singles" soundtrack.

Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Paul Westerberg, Mother Love Bone, Soundgarden and also a song with just Chris Cornell, Mudhoney, Screaming Trees, Smashing Pumpkins... it's a totally unabashed grungefest.

And, it has a cover of Zep's "The Battle of Evermore" by The Lovemongers, which is actually Nancy and Ann Wilson. AMAZING!!!!! version of this song.

When I see your list (good stuff, btw), I am moved to think of the difference between a movie soundtrack and a movie score.

It takes two different skill sets to write expressive and descriptive original movie (music) scores that enhance the visuals on the screen than it does to chose individual songs by a variety of artists (soundtrack) and place them strategically in a movie to capture a particular ambiance.

Just an observation your selection got me to thinking, GeddyRulz...

Great soundtrack! Dazed and Confused is good too.

as far as movie scores go, my favorite is The Good The Bad and The Ugly.
