Janie Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 http://i378.photobucket.com/albums/oo228/LifesonPics/Picture2464.jpg Well, poor old Crum. He's taken a turn for the worst. For the past few days he has holed himself away in a cabinet. Aside from his meds, he's had no appetite, is very lethargic but hovers around his water dish. Last night, when we were eating dinner, he came downstairs (the first time in a long while), sat on the chair next to me and just sat there looking up at me. Still happy but obviously sick. He wasn't doing much better this morning and is at the vet's all day today for blood work, x-rays, etc. The last time he was like this, about six months ago, the vet said he probably only has about another six months. Which is where we're at. I'm still hopeful but at the same time, I know he's pretty sick. Poor kitty. I miss that he's not here.

I just got off the phone with the vet and, surprisingly, he's doing well. His kidney and liver values are high but that's to be expected I guess for the amount of kidney damage he has. They're keeping him overnight and will have the results from all his tests tomorrow morning. Â Everyone loves him. The vet said she was heading out of the clinic but was going to return tonight before she went to bed to check up on him.

Janie Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Crummy Kermy Jones (cat's got a million nicknames) update: He ended up having to stay at the vet's for three days. We picked him up late last night. It was nice to see him and he responded so well to all the meds and fluids the vet gave him.  We sure do love him. And it's a damn good thing because the bill was $1,225.
